Future Games Spotlight: Cordell Clinkingbeard

EMERSON, GEORGIA - From Wednesday, July 24 through Sunday, July 28 Prep Baseball hosted its prestigious Future Games and Junior Future Games at LakePoint Sports Complex in Emerson, Georgia. This year's event week also included a 17U division of uncommitted Class of 2025 players who participanted in the inaugural Senior Future Games.

On the first day of the 2024 Future Games, all players representing grad classes 2025, 2026, and 2028 will be participating in a pro-style workout in front of a fleet of Division I coaches alongside fellow prospects representing nearly every state in the nation.

Today we will begin spotlighting some of the Nebraska standouts on Team Midwest from the 2024 Future Games. Today, we take a look 2026, C/RHP, Cordell Clinkingbeard from Papio South.

Hit: RHH Athletic thick build with east repeatable rhythm. Powerful swing with big time power and consistent barrel contact. Some whip in barrel through the zone with control. Highend upside
Power: 103 max exit velocity, averaged 92.3 mph. 379' max distance.
Arm: RH. C-82 mph. Quick hands with arm strength that carries through the bag.
Defense: 1.94-1.97 pop times. Accurate to the base with quick athletic feet. Kept dirt balls close in game while stealing strikes at the bottom of the zone. Matched plane with strength in glove
ATH: 7.31 runner in the 60. 1.71 and 4.01 in the 10 and 30 yard splits.
