NEBRASKA - Get ready for the first iteration of rankings from the class of 2028. 

The evaluation process is fluid and ongoing, with multiple viewings to get the best feel for players' abilities. It's important to note that as players continue their development, some show marked improvement at a much more rapid pace. That doesn't indicate that other players got worse or went backward; it's just how player development works. As the year unfolds, players improve, and new prospects appear on the radar, expanding the Prep Baseball rankings universe.

THE NUMBER ONE

Cade Anderson RHP / 3B / Lincoln Southwest, NE / 2028

 

Anderson possesses a large frame with arm that works. He was up to 84 on the mound down at Lakepoint for the Junior Futures Game, while he tickled 85 at a Prep Baseball tournament in May. Strike thower with the ability to land his breaking ball. 

 
At the plate he has controlled movements, with a wide base and minimal stride. Shows good bat-to-ball skills and generated a max exit velocity of 90. 


THE REST OF THE TOP FIVE

Scott Miner II C / OF / Westview, NE / 2028


Miner is a multi-sport athlete who has impressed on the football field as well as the ball diamond. Has impressive pull-side juice, losing several baseballs at our Freshman Free showcase and posting a max exit velocity of 95.3 MPH. Good actions behind the dish. 

Braxtyn Blank-Jimenez RHP / OF / Skutt Catholic, NE / 2028


Projectable frame, arm works. Good feel for multiple pitches. Twisted 3 no-hit innings for Team Midwest at the Junior Future Games. 

Easton Shockey SS / RHP / BELLEVUE WEST SR HIGH SCHOOL, NE / 2028


Long limbed athlete. Good arm, good motor. 

Sean Hipsher C / 1B / Skutt Catholic, NE / 2028


Athletic qualities behind the dish. Decent arm and actions (72 MPH, 2.12 pop). Quick hands at the plate, works uphill in swing.
