Super 60 Preview: Danny Wallace, OF, Papillion LaVista South
January 30, 2025
Danny Wallace has been a name to watch in Midwest circles for some time, and his reputation only continues to grow. With a dynamic skill set, relentless competitiveness, and infectious personality, Wallace is yet another freak from Nebraska ready to make an impact at the Super 60.
Wallace's résumé speaks for itself: Prep Baseball's 49th ranked player in the nation, Oklahoma State commit, 2023 Future Games MVP, and an All-American Game alum. Wherever he is, he has consistently performed at the highest levels.
"There's not enough good things you can say about Danny Wallace," said Prep Baseball Nebraska's state director, Pascal Paul. "He's shined at virtually every event we've asked him to attend. There's not a lot that he can't do."
Wallace's athleticism is a major part of his appeal. Originally a shortstop, he has transitioned seamlessly into center field, displaying exceptional range and instincts. He's just as impressive on the mound, bringing a mid-90s fastball, a sharp curveball, and a reliable changeup that consistently finds the zone.
"Throw him on the mound, and he's 92 with a curveball and a changeup," Pascal added. "He's an explosive athlete who can truly play anywhere on the field."
At the plate, Wallace combines raw power with refined hitting ability. His aggressive approach and knack for barreling balls make him a constant offensive threat. Pascal recalled a moment from the Future Games epitomizing Wallace's confidence and talent: "Very first game, he's got a little bit of back soreness, and I tell him good luck. He says, 'Yeah, first-pitch fastball, I'm just swinging at it.' Sure enough, he hammers it into the gap for a double."

While Wallace's physical tools are undeniable, his intangibles truly separate him. His love for the game and competitive spirit are evident every time he steps on the field. "He really likes to play baseball—like he'd play every single day of the week if he could," said Rob Allison, Prep Baseball's Upper Midwest Supervisor. "He's confident but not cocky. He knows he's put the work in, but he's also the first guy to laugh at himself or crack a joke."
Wallace's personality makes him a favorite among teammates and coaches alike. "Players gravitate toward him," Allison continued. "He's got that 'it' factor. He knows the pitcher on the mound is trying to strike him out, and he's going to take that challenge every time. He's the guy who unleashes the fury and barrels the ball as hard and far as he can."
With his performances at national events and reputation as a competitor, Wallace has firmly put himself on the radar of scouts nationwide.
"Danny Wallace has been a national darling for a while now, especially from the Midwest," Pascal said. "He's got All American credentials and some real draft juice. Scouts will definitely be following him closely this spring."
Where Wallace lands in the big picture remains to be seen, for now, it's a ticket to Stillwater, Oklahoma. But one thing is sure: he's a unique talent with the makeup and tools to succeed at the game's highest levels.
As Pascal noted, following Wallace's games this spring will be no small task. "I'll just be weaving my way through another crowd of scouts trying to get a good video," he said with a laugh.
Another freak from Nebraska.
