2021 Scout Day: RI Pitcher Analysis - Quick Hits

  • Joaquin Cardoso, 2024, RHP,  a young clean arm, arm really works and works with minimal effort. Fastball in the low 70’s with an above average changeup for his age.
  • Adam Bessette, 2022, RHP,  arm is short and quick, working from a ¾ slot, fastball is the high 70’s with arm side action to it. The breaking ball has depth with tilt and pounded for strikes.
  • Alex Cote, 2022, LHP, a big bodied LHP, fastball in mid 70’s located down in the zone, arm works free and easy from a higher slot. Mixed in a bigger top to bottom breaker at 66 mph.
  • Brayden Cockcroft, 2023, LHP, a long and lengthy LHP, has a chance to throw with some velocity at some point. The fastball was clocked at 77 mph, with arm side action. Brings some deception to the delivery, lots of arms and legs coming at you.
  • Ian Mihalopoulos, 2023, RHP, a quick arm righty, fastball topped at 80 mph, arm is loose and quick. Late break and tilt to breaker in the mid 60’s. Look for him to continue to climb.
  • Tommy Mitchell, 2024, LHP, long and loose from a ¾ slot. The fastball touched 80 mph, arm side run and sink to it. More of a sweeper breaker, with velocity to it at 67-68 mph,  good hand speed to it. Tons of projection with this one.
  • Zachary Scotti, 2022, LHP, big durable pitchers frame. Arm works from a higher slot, fastball at 75 mph, mixed in both secondary pitches for strikes.
  • Cody Carchio, 2022, RHP, a clean and loose arm from the right-side, arm works with minimal effort, fastball in the low to mid 70’s with arm side run. The spin pitch shows proper shape and tilt to it.
