Every week, PBR Massachusetts holds an interactive chat through Twitter with our followers. Our goal is to be accessible. This is your chance to take advantage of our expertise. Ask questions to Dennis Healy, Massachusetts Scouting Director, about the recruiting process, upcoming high school season, specific prospects, PBR events, or anything else that may be on your mind.

We would like to thank all who participated, we enjoy bringing you knowledge and expertise on players and programs in your area.

Next week, we will be answering questions on either Tuesday or Wednesday, stay tuned.

Six of the top questions from the Ask.FM Q&A session on December 10th

Should I be worried if I'm low-to-mid-80s in the winter, throwing twice a week but was mid-to-high-80s mid season... or is this normal?  If not, what is the reason for the decline?

PBR: This is normal, but it's a tough question to answer without knowing your throwing cycle.

On average, how many times per week should a HS player be hitting per week before the season starts in March?

PBR: If you want to be good, you should hit everyday except for your period of downtime. Downtime is your time to rest and recover.

Are you a believer in if a kid is good the scouts will come to him or do you believe its all about the program you play for?

PBR: I believe if you can play, you will get an opportunity.

What are the best ways to gain velocity?

PBR: Velocity gains are through core strength, functional strength as well as shoulder and hip separation.

Do Ivy league schools typically recruit at showcases?

PBR: Ivy league coaches put in their work and where they go depends on the time of year.

When you go unsigned into a college, do you still have a chance to play on the team?

PBR: Of course, walk-ons play all the time. It's all about believing in yourself.
