Goffstown vs Bedford Scouting Notes - 5/19/18

By PBR Staff
PBR New England

Grant Lavigne 1B / 3B / Bedford, NH / 2018

Report: There were several MLB teams in attendance to see the 6-4 225-pound Lavigne. Despite an underwhelming in-game performance (0-3 with a K), Lavigne put on a prodigious display of power in his pre-game BP, launching 23 balls out of Sullivan Park at Saint Anselm College. The swing is fluid and repeatable with a simple pick up and put down of the front foot. The bat path is direct and long through the zone, and the ball absolutely jumps off the bat. Defensively, Lavigne played left-field in this contest.

St. John's/Xaverian Scouting Notes - 5/1/18

Sean Burke RHP / 1B / Saint John's, MA / 2018

6-4 righty and University of Maryland commit utilized a heavy fastball that got up as high as 92 MPH while sitting 87-90. Mixed in a solid breaking ball to keep the Xaverian Brothers lineup off balance for most of the contest.  The delivery is online with his feet and the arm slot has come down a bit since the last time we saw him. The lift is athletic and repeated. Has struggled with command, usually because he runs away from his arm at times. The projection is plus, as there 7 or 8 professional scouts into see him pitch.
