New England Top Five Breakdown: Top Viewed Prospect Profiles for New Hampshire - #2 Owen Batchelder

Owen Batchelder#2 Owen Batchelder, 2017
Background: Long and lean left-hander who I have seen a number of times now. The arm is very clean and simple on the backside. The delivery is athletic and repeatable. The fastball has run and sink to it, sits at 82-84 mph now, with more in there. The breaking pitch is slurvy and has improved immensely, now gets to 69 mph. The shape of the pitch is good but the spin of the ball needs to be tightened. The changeup is 71 mph and still a work in progress. Love the frame and the projectability, he needs to continue to work and improve. I like his chances.

Ranking: Batchelder is ranked 14th in New England's 2017 class.
