By Nathan Rode
National Supervisor

The 2015 Tournament of Stars took place last week in Cary, NC, and there was plenty of action to see. Catch up on all of our notebooks and see who made the 40-man roster for the trials period.

USA Baseball always has plenty of talent on hand to choose its 18U National Team from and this year’s class was no different. Listed alphabetically below are 20 prospects that stood out during the workouts and four days of games.

Jacob Amaya, IF, South Hills HS, CA (Cal State Fullerton)
One of a few 2017s at the Tournament of Stars, Amaya made his presence known quickly. He showed good hands and actions on defense during the first workout session and the ball comes out of his hand well giving him good arm strength. At the plate, he takes a smooth easy swing with good bat speed. He squared several balls up in his first game and finished the week with a .357 average (5-for-14) with two doubles and four RBIs.
