Diamond Notes is our new segment that will highlight the players that had outstanding statistical weeks, but didn't quite make the cut for overall Player of the Week. Below are some players that exemplified high individual performances from the first week of the season.

+ Ben Petrone, 2B, The Hun School, NJ 2021
In three games, the freshman hit .700 with 3 2Bs, 6 RBI, and 5 R scored, and 1 SB

+ Jack Erbeck, RHP/OF, The Hun School, NJ 2019 (Fairfield commit)
In three games, the junior hit .429 with a 2B, HR, and 6 RBI with 7 runs scored and 4 SB. He also threw 5 IP with 13 K's against Blair Academy.

+ Brelyn Jones, RHP/INF, Rutherford HS, NJ 2019
Jones pitched 6 innings with 16Ks  2BB and 1 hBP   1 hit - No earned runs. Jones had 16 K against Elmwood Park on Wednesday and struck out 16 of the 18 batters he faced.

+ Abellany Mendez, Rutherford HS, NJ
Mendez was 7/14 as leadoff batter with 2 triples 6 Runs and 6 Stolen bases to help propel Rutherford offense in last 3 games has scored 37 runs.

+ Drew Compton, 3B, Governor Livingston HS, NJ 2019 (Georgia Tech recruit)
In 4 games last week Compton went 9-14 with 2 home runs, 2 doubles, 10 rbis, 7 runs and 2 walks. In G.L.'s 7 games this year, Compton is hitting .542 with 13 hits, 12 rbis, 11 runs, 5 extra base hits, has a .571 OBP and a 1.488 OPS.

+ Thomas Babalis, LHP, Somerville HS, NJ 2018 (Binghamton recruit)
In three games last week, the senior was 5-11 with 1 2B, 1 3B, 2 HR, and 7 RBI. On the mound, Babalis pitched a no-hitter – 7 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 13 K, and 2 BB.

+ Johnny Amodeo, DePaul Catholic HS, NJ 2019
In 3 games this week in which DePaul went 3-0, Amodeo hit .636, OBP .666, 4 1B, 1 2B, 2 HR, 5 RBI, 5 R, 1 BB, 0 K's, 3 SB

+ Kyle Teel, C/INF/RHP, Mahwah HS, NJ 2020 (Virginia recruit)
For the week, the sophomore was 9-18 with 3 intentional walks and threw out 3-3 base runners. He also pitched two innings striking out four batters.
Last week Klimek was 9-18 with 4 runs scored, 5 doubles, 1 triple, 1 HR, 6 RBI, and 1 SB. On the mound, Klimek hurled 6 IP with 11 K and 2 BB against Whippany Park.
+ KC Hunt, RHP/SS, Ramapo HS, NJ 2019 (Mississippi State recruit)
Hunt struck out 14 in 5 innings of work in a win over Hackensack earlier last week.
