Eastern PA Fall Review Highlights

The Eastern PA Fall Review took place yesterday at Widener University with 30 players from three states in attendance. Following is a look at top in game performances as well as a look at a few prospects that shined during the showcase portion of the day. Complete statistical results on all prospects in attendance will be released in the coming week.

BLACK TEAM:

+ 2018 uncommitted C/1B James Vito (West Chester Henderson) put together a complete day at the plate. The right-handed hitter went 1-for-3 in game one and then went 4-for-4 with two doubles in game two to finish the day 5-for-7.

+ 2018 uncommitted OF/RHP Brett Flynn (Randolph, NJ) turned in the day's top 60-yard dash at 6.82, went 2-for-4 with a double in game two and tossed three solid innings sitting 77-78.

+ 2019 OF Dylan Kummery (Souderton Area) went 3-for-4 with a double and a triple, finishing a home run shy of the cycle in game two. On the day the right-handed hitter went 4-for-7 with two RBI.

+ 2018 uncommitted RHP Dawson Magar (Donegal) worked three quality innings sitting 82-84 with a solid 11/5 breaking curveball.  The 6-foot, 180-pound right-hander, who has been up to 86 mph this summer, allowed one unearned run on one infield hit while striking out five.

RED TEAM:

+ 2022 OF/SS Nikolas Rubendall (Norristown) flashed an athletic all-around skill set during the showcase portion of the day serving notice that he will be a player to follow in this class. The 5-foot-11, 150-pounder showcased athletic defensive actions at both positions with 80 mph arm strength across the diamond while displaying a solid right-handed swing with an 80 mph bat exit velocity.

+ 2020 OF Zion Spearman (Springside Chestnut Hill) showcased a physical frame and plenty of upside in a solid day. The 5-foot-11, 210-pound right-handed hitter registered an 85 mph bat exit velocity, ran a 7.00 60-yard dash and barreled the baseball routinely in a solid round of batting practice while putting together a number of quality at bats in game action.

+ 2018 uncommitted MIF/RHP Len Asari (Cherry Hill East, NJ) was arguably the best pound-for-pound player in attendance. The 5-foot-7, 150-pound right-handed hitter displayed the ability to be a top of the order table setter at the next level while flashing solid abilities defensively and command of a fastball, curveball mix on the mound while sitting 78-80.

+ 2018 uncommitted 1B Billy Collins (North Penn) turned in the top bat exit velocity of the day at 95 mph and took an impressive round of batting practice that included a number of balls hit of the blue monster in left with one that cleared the 35 foot wall. The 6-foot-3, 230-pound right-handed hitter went on to go 2-for-5 with a double in game action with three solid barrels in at bats in which he made outs.

+ 2018 uncommitted RHP Brian Janetka (Souderton Area) sat 81-82 while using a sharp breaking 74 mph slider to work three scoreless innings with two hits allowed and five strikeouts.

Headlines
