Herman, Hylton Become N.J.'s First Participants at Super 60

TJ Hunt
Director, PBR New Jersey

In one week, 2018 OF Jack Herman (Maryland recruit) and 2018 1B Brandon Hylton (Stetson recruit) will become the first ever New Jersey participants at the Super 60 Profession Showcase in Chicago, Illinois.

Last year, an astounding 120 professional scouts of all levels were in attendance. Most Major League teams had 3-5 scouts of all levels in attendance. Since the event’s inception in 2003, more than 280 players have been selected in the MLB Draft, including 17 first-round picks and 15 second-rounders. Last year alone, four Super 60 participants were drafted in the first round.

The Super 60 will be held on Sunday, February 4 at the Max-McCook Athletic & Exposition Center’s state-of-the-art 125,000 square-foot open turf facility. The address is 4750 S. Vernon Ave., McCook, IL 60525, located in the southwest suburb of Chicago.

Herman has been consistently one of the top players in the state since he emerged on the scene as a freshman. An advanced athlete, Herman uses his unique mixture of speed and gap-to-gap power to propel his game to elite status.

Hylton is an up-and-coming name on high school draft boards, and rightfully so. The 6-foot-6 220-pound first baseman possesses an fluid, effortless swing from the left side with "light-tower power" as National Crosschecker Shooter Hunt put it in the recent Coffee & Curveballs episode. Hylton's upside is through the roof as he is still growing into his frame after a massive growth spurt his sophomore year.

We are looking forward to having both Herman and Hylton, two of the top players in the state, represent New Jersey on a national scale.
