NJ: Top Uncommitted 2021 Arms

TJ Hunt
Director, PBR New Jersey

The 2021 Spring Season is a couple months away, but there are still some talented uncommitted senior arms on the market. Here's a look at some of the arms worth a look for the winter and spring seasons.

Top Uncommitted 2021 Arms

Nicholas Semon RHP / Don Bosco Prep, NJ / 2021

The Spin:  Broad shouldered and athletic at 6-foot 180-pounds, Semon possesses a solid, late life fastball at 85-87 mph and a sharp, downer breaker at 70-72 mph with swing-and-miss potential. Semon has the ability to pound the lower half of the strike zone and his breaker shows elite capabilities at times.

Brandon Feigin RHP / Toms River North, NJ / 2021

The Spin:  Feigin is a strike thrower at 83-85 with uptempo delivery and feel for a breaker with 11/5 bite at 66-70. He flashes a knuckleball with some tumble at 64 mph for strikes as well. Consistently induces weak contact, Feigin can be a solid add to any college program to add depth to the recruiting class.

Anthony Scarlata RHP / Bridgewater-Raritan , NJ / 2021

The Spin: Scarlata's ceiling is high with a lanky frame at 6-foot 172-pounds with still room to fill out. Scarlata stood out in the summer at the NJ State Games with a fastball at 82-83 touching 85 at times and a true, late-breaking slider at 73-76. Scarlata's arm action and pitch profile project him as a groundball machine at the next level.

Jason Gilman LHP / Old Bridge, NJ / 2021

Gilman's pitchability at 6-foot-1 160-pounds and left handedness make him a surefire candidate for a top uncommitted player in the state. 81-83 touching 84 from a higher slot, Gilman's breaker shows elite spin (2495 rpm max) that he controls for strikes at will.

Malachy Henriques RHP / Mahwah , NJ / 2021

Henriques showed heavy armside life in July at the Morris County Cubs Scout Day with a fastball at 82-85 touching 86 and 2200 AVG Spin Rate. His breaker showed more cutter/slider movement at 66-69 and -1.1 Induced Vertical Break and -5.4 Horizontal Movement.
