The Preseason All State Showcase wrapped up yesterday with over 50 players showcasing their skills and updating their stats before the spring season gets going. There were several statistical numbers that jumped off the chart; a testament to the hard work the players have shown over the course of their high school careers.

TOP 60 YARD DASH TIMES

The event compromised primarily of uncommitted 2019s, with a few 2018s and 2020s sprinkled in. Right away, it was apparent how athletic this group of players were, with 26 registering sub-7.0 60 yard dashes. Led by uncommitted 2019s Christian Maceda (Paramus Catholic HS, NJ) with a 6.41, Sebastian JnoBaptiste (Neptune HS, NJ) with a 6.43, and Trevor Mutolo (Summit HS, NJ) with a 6.54.

Traditionally the catching position does not produce the fastest players on a team, or at a showcase, for that matter. But these catchers on Saturday were of a different breed. Leading the way was 2020 Gregory Bozzo (Ridge HS, NJ) who clocked in at a 6.72 – followed by fellow 2020 C Kevin Reardon (West Morris Mendham HS, NJ). 2019s Justin Kapuscinski (Marlboro HS, NJ) and Trevor Brey (Middletown South HS, NJ) both registered sub-7.0 60s at 6.96 apiece.

With all of this said, the outfielders took the cake at this event, with each of the top seven 60 times coming from primary outfielders:

Old Dominion recruit Kenneth Levari (St. Augustine Prep HS, NJ) was 86-88 with feel for a slider for strikes, and uncommitted 2019 LHP Zach Grace (Timer Creek HS, NJ) was 86-87 with a long, loose arm action.
