2025 Program Preview: Desert Oasis

Brett Harrison
West Coast Supervisor

The 2025 Nevada High School baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams throughout the Silver State.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons by raising the 2025 NIAA State Championship trophy, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams throughout Nevada and will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Top 10 Rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week and updating the Top 10 Rankings.

    TEAM OUTLOOK

The Diamondbacks have been a baseball power in the Silver State since their program's inception and after an atypical 2024, Desert Oasis looks to bounce back with a group that has a pair of higher level arms in Air Force commit, Brody Griffith, and 2024 West Coast Games standout, Sebastian Frye, that are set to be the "one, two punch" this Spring.

Along with being one of the top arms in Nevada's 2026 Class, Griffith is expected to be one of the top bats in the DO lineup along with infielders, Lincoln Guillermo and Kasey Alferez, as well as outfielder, Aidan Smith. The heart of the of order with these four bats will be one that no teams will like to face and paired with these intriguing role bats in Manzano and Berumen make this a lineup that when things are clicking, it will be an exciting one to follow.

The young duo in Marquez and Walsh will be one to watch this this Spring as they could make an early impact in their High School careers and could be difference makers on both sides of the ball.
