2025 Program Preview: Galena Grizzlies

The 2025 Nevada High School baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams throughout the Silver State.
Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons by raising the 2025 NIAA State Championship trophy, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams throughout Nevada and will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Top 10 Rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

TEAM OUTLOOK
The Grizzlies are primed for a big Spring with senior core that will be complimented with a handful of newcomers, including 2024 Future Games standout for Team Nevada, Logan Green. Lead on the mound by senior, Gavin Talonen, who was arguably one of the top arms at the Reno Fall ID at the end of 2024, is expected to be the top arm in the Galena rotation with his number getting called in big games this Spring.
This is a group that has the tools to make some serious noise this Spring with Seniors - Drew Fairman, Stevie Talafuse and Umpqua commit, Shiloh Wilson - expected to be staples in the heart of the Galena order along with junior Memphis Venis and standout sophomore Nathan Cordell who both are expected to play a key role this Spring.
