2025 Program Preview: Liberty Patriots

Brett Harrison
West Coast Supervisor

The 2025 Nevada High School baseball season is quickly approaching and, as usual, excitement is abound throughout the state. Players and coaches have been working in preparation for the upcoming season and, as is the case each year, there are some very talented players and teams throughout the Silver State.

Teams across the state have goals and aspirations to finish their seasons by raising the 2025 NIAA State Championship trophy, but there is plenty of work to be done before that becomes reality. We hope to familiarize our readers with many of the teams across the state as we preview individual teams throughout Nevada and will take you right up to first pitch this season with these team previews, eventually releasing our Preseason Top 10 Rankings that’ll carry us into the opening week of action.

Please keep checking back throughout the season as we will be your one-stop shop for everything related to high school baseball across the state. Each week we will be releasing our Players of the Week and updating the Top 10 Rankings.

        TEAM OUTLOOK

The Patriots enter the 2025 High School Season under first year head coach, Mike Oliver, after the tragic and sudden passing of long time, highly respected head coach, Rich Ebarb. The Liberty program has been built into one of the most respected programs in the Las Vegas Valley, always finding themselves making deep playoff runs year and in and year out, and we project this group to be no different.

Lead by a returning core, Cole Neilson (CSN), Rashan Chavis (Prairie View A&M), Nicholas Blakeney (Hawaii Pacific) and Shawn Mack, this is a group that we believe it primed for another deep push. When playoffs comes around, it seems to always come down to who has the most arms and the Patriots return nine arms this year, making them one of the deepest rotations in the state, lead by a their four starters in Cole Diaz, Nicholas Blakeney, Shawn Mack and Cayden Rodgers Ramirez. Recent College of Southern Nevada signee, Cole Neilson, and Prairie View A&M recruit, Rashan Chavis, will lead the way on the offensive side of the ball as catalysts at the top of the lineup, followed by Tyler McDougal (CSN), Buddy Onoszko and Luke Miller, who will help anchor the heart of the order.

Liberty has always been a group that makes you play a complete game to beat them, and this year will be no different with the squad they are set to roll out.
