Future Games: Game 3 - Pitcher Analysis

Emerson, GA - The 2020 Future Games is officially in the books. Team Nevada made the trek to the LakePoint Sports Complex in Emerson, GA, widely considered as the best venue in the country for amateur baseball in the country. The Future Games rosters were populated by some of the top uncommitted 2022 & 2023 prospects from around the country to compete in this premier event.  Team Nevada brought 19 players from across the state that was looking to show off their talent to the rest of the nation, PBR scouting staff and college coaches from around the country. All games were live streamed through Playsight on the Future Games homepage where scouts could follow prospective athletes throughout the event.

The Future Games started off with a pro-style workout where they showed off some of their individuals tools and recorded measurable statistics. Each session was videoed and will go on individual PBR Player Profile along with Updated Metrics and Scouting Notes throughout the week. After the workout portion completes, teams spend the next two days competing in live game action versus the other PBR select teams from around the country. 

In Game 3, Team Nevada faced off in a pitchers dual against Team Arizona using a rotation filled with two-way prospects including scoreless outings by 2022's Luke Metzker, Chase Ditmar and Parker Vint, a clean outing by 2023 Dominick Rush and also featured 2023 Gunnar Myro, who topped out at 87 mph. We now dive into the analytic side of the event where TrackMan was used to capture every pitch thrown during the event, collecting a variety of metrics that give insight into why each pitch does what it does.
