Nevada Scouting Director

We continue onto the 2021 Class with a new #1 in Arbor View's Garrett Cutting. The Top 10 in this class could rival any Top 10 in the country with 90+ mph arms, power, speed and high level two-way guys looking to continue proving themselves throughout their Junior campaigns. The talent in and beyond the Top 10 makes this class as a whole an exciting one to follow.

1. GARRETT CUTTING

Cutting, an Oregon commit, tops out the 2021 Class with his high level instincts, actions and arm strength at a premium position paired with a gap to gap approach that has remained consistent throughout his high school career apparent by his .495 batting average as a sophomore at Arbor View. Cutting has been a consistent standout at previous PBR events, hitting a no-doubter in the Nevada All-State Games and followed it up with an impressive Southern Nevada Scout Day where he showed off his ability to range to both sides with ease, flashing the leather and following it up with an accurate 87 mph across the diamond.

2. Jacob Walsh

Walsh, the lone Uncommitted 2021 prospect in the Top 10, played a huge roll in Desert Oasis' journey to the 2019 Nevada State Championship. The 6-foot-3, 215 pound two-way prospect has showcased his ability to swing it with big time power at a high level throughout his high school career as well as consistently being effective on the mound with a fastball that has recently topped out at 87 from the left side with a sharp breaking ball that lives in the zone.  Walsh will play a huge roll in the Diamondbacks quest to claim their second State Title in as many years.

3. Tyler Whitaker

The talented two-way prospect and Arizona commit has been a big name in Nevada since his youth days and he continues to prove why with impressive power to all fields and as well as an electric arm on the mound recently reaching up to 89 mph with life coming out of his hand. After sitting out his sophomore year due to the NIAA transfer rules, Whitaker is a prospect looking to take that next step and begin to separate himself as one of the top players in the state and throughout the West Region.

4. Hunter Katschke

Katschke has proved himself time and time again both at the plate and on the mound as he will continue to do both at UNLV. The 6-foot-2, 190 pound prospect had one of the top Scout Day performances throughout Scout Day Season leaving the yard multiple times throughout his batting practice session to left-center and center field proving his on one of the top power bats in the class only to follow it up with a bullpen that had his fastball up to 91 mph with 11/5 breaking ball that flashes sharp bite.

5. Tommy Dilandri

A TCU commit, Dilandri has made his name known nationally with elite level tools that, when they come together, it is impressive to watch. Another prospect who had to sit out his sophomore campaign due to the NIAA transfer rules, this is a player with high level athleticism who can do it all at the plate, in the field and even on the mound and will play a key roll in loaded Panther squads journey to reclaim the Nevada State Title. Be on the lookout for this prospect to have a huge year.
