PBR Nevada Player of the Year: Robby Snelling

The PBR State Players of the Year have been announced with a handful of awards still coming out over the next few days with the PBR National Player of the Year and All-PBR Team coming out shortly after that. These rosters are loaded with MLB Draft caliber players who put up "video game" type numbers in their respective high school season. Nevada has two players who on numerous Mock MLB Draft Boards land in the top rounds with multiple 1st Round projections, meaning that Silver State will be represented extremely well in July.

With Nevada high school baseball finally back to "normal", we had one of the most impressive seasons from the amount of standout performances perspective, BUT none were more impressive than the year put together by McQueen High School product and LSU Signee, Robby Snelling. The 6-foot-3, 210 pound left hander put together a perfect 8-0 record on the mound with a 0.56, setting the Nevada High School strikeout record, racking up 145 strikeouts over his 62.1 innings pitched, averaging 2.33 strikeouts per inning with his fastball running up in to the mid-90's to go with an elite, sweeping slider that he showed confidence to throw in any count and was routinely his strikeout pitch. Along with the Nevada High School strikeout record for the season, he also earned the single game strikeout record with 20 strikeouts against Spanish Springs. Along with his multiple record setting performance on the mound, he was also a significant contributor at the plate, hitting .362 with 6 homers while bringing in 23 RBI's to help out his own cause.
