PBR NEVADA STATE GAMES: quick hits

Billy Scaldeferri SS / OF / Bishop Gorman, NV / 2023

The Bishop Gorman product has soldified himself as one of the top Uncommitted prospects in Nevada's 2023 Class over the past 6 months and continued to do so at the PBR Nevada State Games. His 86 mph Outfield Velocity and 99.8 mph TrackMan Exit Velocity ranked him in the Top 5 of each category, but the athleticism and confidence he displayed throughout the event is what sets him apart. The fluid, twitch actions throughout his game with a lean, developing 6-foot-0 frame makes him an intriguing prospect that we expect to find a home in the near future.

Tanner Hail RHP / 1B / Bishop Manogue, NV / 2023

The Bishop Manogue product put together the most dominant pitching performance at the PBR Nevada State Games. At 6-foot-3, 165 pound, Hail has all the physical features that make for a projectable prospect, but his loose 3/4 to low 3/4 arm that sat 85-86 mph with an ability to locate around the zone gave the hitters more than they could handle as he struck out 4 of 5 batters faced with the one hitter contact made being a weak ground ball to the shortstop. His mid 80's fastball paired with a developing slider makes for an intriguing prospect that we expect to only be scratching the surface of what is to come.

Andrew Overland RHP / 1B / Cimmaron-Memorial, NV / 2023

The 6-foot-5, multi-sport athlete has seen his stock skyrocket in the past few weeks after a dominant outing with his club team, LVR, and he continued to show exactly why after running it up to an event best 87.7 mph via TrackMan with seemingly more in the tank. He projects to eventually be a consistent 90's mph guy with long levers and athletic, raw delivery that has room for significant improvement, especially getting more directional towards the plate while utilizing his lower half more instead of relying almost solely on his raw arm strength. This a prospect with no ceiling in sight as he has all the attribute to become a big time arm that we wouldn't expect to be off the board very soon

Caden Richards SS / 2B / Faith Lutheran, NV / 2023

The Faith Lutheran product has steadily built an impressive resume after being a staple a the top of the Faith Lutheran lineup this past Spring, he continued to prove that he can flat out hit as he racked up multiple hits during the live game play portion of the event. The defensive side of the ball is where he impressed the PBR Staff the most as he showcased improved lateral range with the help of the 6.95 Swift Performance Time 60 to go with his event best 89 mph Infield Velocity. Now, he has solidified himself as a legitimate prospect with actions on both sides of the ball that will translate to the next level with his power numbers expected to trend as the rest of his game along with projected physical strength gains to come.

Kurt Felix SS / RHP / Virgin Valley, NV / 2024

The small school product out of Virgin Valley put together one of the events biggest performances with standout performances on both days starting with his loud batting practice session, highlighted by his Top 5 ranked 99.2 mph TrackMan Exit Velocity. He continued his impressive performances into Day 2 during the live game play, he racked up a pair of hits including a double, then hopped on the mound where he ran it up to 84.5 mph with much more in the tank.

Caden Hunt C / OF / Coronado , NV / 2023

Hunt is a "tooled out" player that landed at or near the top of almost every statistical category that applied to him at the PBR Nevada State Games. His event best, Swift Performance verified 6.66 Laser Timed 60 was outshined by his electric batting practice round that saw him land in the #2 spot on the TrackMan Exit Velocity Leaderboard with a 100.1 mph performance. He continued to show off his game with an 85 mph Outfield Velocity after throwing a 1.93 PBR Verified Pop Time time behind the plate. When he is able to round up his complete game, this is going to be an exciting player to watch this Summer and into his Senior Spring season.

Louis Dion SS / 2B / Coronado , NV / 2024

The Coronado product is a "gamer" type that isn't going to blow you away with stats at the top of the leaderboard, but he put together arguably the best in-game performance on Day 2 of the PBR Nevada State Games as he was the only player to (opposite field) homer during the game play portion of the event then came up in his second at bat and singled for his second hit of the day. Dion could be an intriguing follow this Summer and into the Fall with his NSA club team.

Christian Gross OF / SS / Faith Lutheran, NV / 2024

One of Nevada's top Uncommitted 2024 prospects recently made the transition to the outfield and his game could translate well to a corner outfield spot. After producing a line drive filled batting practice round, he headed out to the outfield where he hit 90 mph three separate times during his Outfield Evaluation. He has the actions on both sides of the ball that will translate well to the next level with his confidence continuing to grow and parallel his physical development and strength gains.

Paul Wescott 2B / OF / Shadow Ridge, NV / 2024

Fresh off of his State Championship run with Shadow Ridge, Wescott had himself an event. He is another player that won't jump off a stat page at you even though he did post a 6.99 Swift Performance Verified 60 Time and an 83 mph Outfield Velocity, his in-game performance was arguably the best of the event where he went 3 for 3 at the plate with a triple to right field, a triple to left field and a single to left-centerfield to cap off his perfect day at the plate. Wescott came into the PBR Nevada State Games as an Under the Radar prospect, but made name for himself as he heads into his Junior campaign.

Brady Dallimore C / 3B / Palo Verde , NV / 2025

Coming off of a successful freshman campaign, Dallimore can expect to see his name rocket up the 2025 PBR Player Rankings with the performance his put on last week. The 6-foot-3 standout produced one of the top batting practice sessions of the day where he showed off his pull side power potential with a 94.1 mph TrackMan Exit Velocity that projects to improve significantly in the coming years. On the defensive side of the ball is where he separated himself not only from the players in the 2025 Class, but from all of the player at the event as he threw an event best 1.89 PBR Verified Pop Time then headed to the outfield where he threw an event best 91 mph Outfield Velocity. This is a player that could be the next 2025 off the board with the present tools he possesses which are only expected to progress as he adds strength and size to his frame.

Tate Southisene SS / RHP / N/A, NV / 2025

The younger brother of Nevada's Top Ranked 2024, Tate made a case for himself this past Spring with to continue making his way up to the top spot in the 2025 PBR Players Rankings. During the Pro-Style Workout of the PBR Nevada State Games, he showcased his advanced actions on both sides of the ball after a mature batting practice that saw him pepper balls to the big part of the yard with his tall, fluid set up with excellent barrel awareness, staying in his legs well throughout. His defensive skills were on display as well with rangy actions that showed bounce and confidence throughout the fielding process. Though he doesn't play with the same flash as his older brother, his game isn't very far off of what his was at this time last year.

Colton Boardman SS / 2B / Bishop Gorman, NV / 2024

CB is another player who won't jump off the stat page at you, but this is the top of the order guy who always seems to produce tough at-bats and find his way on base. During his batting practice session, he showcased his compact, clean stroke from the left side that produced line drives to the big part of the yard. Defensively, he's a sure handed middle infielder with fluid, easy action, feel for the backhand play to go with his improving arm strength. Keep an eye on Boardman as a player who should be on your radar this Summer, heading into his Junior campaign.

Kane Barber LHP / OF / Centennial, NV / 2026

The incoming freshman proved he could play at the high school level as he was put with the 2023 group for the PBR Nevada State Games and not only did he hang, he excelled. He plenty of time for the velocity to improve, but the present pitchability is what set Barber apart as commanded his three pitch mix exceptionally well with heaviness in both his fastball and changeup with some sweeping action that proved effective against left handed hitters. He shined on the mound and also at the plate where he barreled up two balls during the live game play portion of the event on Day 2 with only one single to show for it. Barber is set to represent Nevada at the 2022 Junior Future Games and we expect him to be a key piece of an exciting young group.

Colton Christman LHP / OF / Arbor View, NV / 2027

Christman came out to the PBR Nevada State Games fresh off his performance at the Rising Stars of Southern Nevada event earlier this year. The 2027 has youthful features with a long, lean frame that works on the mound with advanced polish in his delivery. During his outing, Christman showed his ability to throw his mostly fastball/slider mix out of loose, 3/4 to low 3/4 slot that saw his fastball live in the 81-83 mph range while topping out at 84.7 mph, via TrackMan, to go with his breaking ball that flashes impressive sweeping action that worked better down in the zone. This is an arm to keep on your radar for years to come.
