Brett Harrison
Nevada Scouting Director

As we quickly approach the Spring Season, the PBR Nevada staff introduces our first ever 2025 class rankings. We start our coverage of the 2025 class with a Top 15 rankings list that will continue to group with the next update coming at the beginning of Summer. We are eager to continue following and reporting the development of the group with our "boots on the ground" mentality. committed to providing the most credible and up-to-date information for all things amateur baseball in the Silver State. Players in Nevada are evaluated by PBR Staff at high school and games, tournaments around the Valley, showcases/events, as well as our PBR Showcases. Evaluations are not limited to just PBR Staff, we often are in touch with college recruiters, pro scouts, and local high school and club coaches. All player recommendations are taken into consideration, and all lists are subject to change as we continue to be "hyper local" while delivering a national presence for all things Nevada.

If you feel you deserve to be on this list or positioned differently, feel free to tag us on social media with highlights/game film. Those videos will be seen, and we aim to always be accurate in our reporting. Events through the summer and fall will also be held, where you can get in front of PBR Staff so we can get to know more about you. These lists are constantly changing as players continue to develop, and we promise that we will never stop being out and evaluating.

PBR Player Rankings: 2025 Class

Jase DeSantis SS / C / Arbor view, NV / 2025

DeSantis takes the top spot in the initial 2025 Rankings. The potential 5-tool prospect has solidified himself as a high level prospect after a successful Summer and Fall that he looks to carry into his first High School season with Arbor View. It would be no surprise if we see a commitment come during the Spring season where we project him to have an immediate impact in the Aggies lineup.

James Whitaker OF / RHP / Bishop Gorman , NV / 2025

The younger brother of Houston Astros third round pick, Tyler Whitaker, James has the frame and looseness in his right arm that allows for his ceiling to remain extremely high. His stock has skyrocketed over the past year and his projectability lead to his commitment to LSU before his first high school game. Already an upper 80's guy on the mound, don't be surprised if he ends up being a mid 90's arm by the time it's all said and done.

Tate Southisene SS / RHP / N/A, NV / 2025

Younger brother of Tennessee recruit, Ty Southisene, the two-way 2025 already has advanced actions on both sides of the ball, playing with a chip on his shoulder. What he currently lacks in size, he makes up for him game as a catalyst for whatever lineup he plays in. His projected size and strength gains makes him an intriguing follow as he may be just scratching the surface of what may be the final product.

Ethan Clauss SS / 2B / Palo Verde , NV / 2025

The two time Junior Future Games standout and Texas A&M commit has consistently shown his high level of play over the past few years and projects to make an impact in the Palo Verde lineup early this Spring. His maturity at the plate to go with a smooth, left handed swing can drive the ball to all field  and projects to add significant power to his game as he continues to physically develop. Defensively, his hands and fluid actions put him among the best defenders in his class with his lateral range showing consistent improvements.

Tanner Johns OF / LHP / Palo Verde, NV / 2025

Johns has already shown his ability to perform on both sides of the ball with an intriguing three pitch mix on the mound that he can all throw for strikes form the left side and the power potential at the plate also from the left side. His wide shoulders will allow for more strength to be added to his already presently strong, 6-foot-1, 185 pound frame. His present build with his in-game actions earns Johns a spot in the Top 5 of the initial 2025 Class rankings.

Bryden Bull Of / LHP / N/A, NV / 2025

Bull is an intriguing player as he has opted to exclusively play club ball rather than high school baseball. That decision has already show its benefits as he had committed to Long Beach State prior to his freshman year. Another lefty-lefty with tools on both sides of the ball, he has already seen his power potential start to turn into present power in he recent tournaments with his outfield range also showing impressive progress.

Koa Won C / 2B / Basic Academy , NV / 2025

The Basic backstop immediately step into a team to a team that could be argued as one of the favorites for the 2022 High School State Championship. His intensity behind the plate paired with present strength in his hands and forearms not only puts him as the top catcher in the 2025 Class, but could be argued among top catchers in the state, regardless of class. Won has saw his performance at the Fall Underclass event the past year go viral as the video of his Pop Time recorded 992,000 views on the PBR Nevada instagram. You can count on this 2025 to be an early impact player this Spring.

Nolan Eberwein RHP / OF / Bishop Gorman , NV / 2025

The 6-foot-3, 165 pound freshman comings into his freshman year as a player whose game is just starting to take off. After his performance on the mound, at the plate and in the field helped lead Team Nevada to the Final Four at the 2021 Junior Future Games. Since then, his game as only continued to progress with an easy, fluid left-handed stroke that has seen his power start to shine through, but his future may possibly be on the mound with professional bloodlines that help project that the arm strength could eventually produce a fastball well into the 90's. Keep an eye on Eberwein as a player whose stock to grow considerably throughout the Spring.

Ryan Hunter C / 3B / Faith Lutheran, NV / 2025

Hunter produced a huge performance at the 2021 Junior Future Games with his left-handed bat being arguably among the best in this class, showing his power potential at the Faith Lutheran Scout Day with much more projected to come. His ability behind the plate has continued to trend in the right direction with the his foot speed and arm strength expected to improve, bringing down his Pop Time with it. Hunter is going to be a big bat in the 2025 Class for years to come, keep him on your radar.

Mack Edwards LHP / 1B / Reno, NV / 2025

Edwards announced his presence at the Reno Huskies Scout Day, standing at 6-foot-5, 200 pounds with present actions to go with it. His ability on both sides of the plate, paired with his projectable frame makes him very intriguing prospect who already showed off his power at the plate with a 94.8 mph TrackMan Exit Velocity. The looseness in his left arm on the mound adds to his value as a potential two-way prospect at the next level. The ceiling is incredibly high for Edwards with a ton of room to add strength and size which should translate to improvements in each part of his game over the next four years.
