Super 60: Paulshawn Pasqualotto

Brett Harrison
Nevada Scouting Director

The Super 60 was an eye opener to say the least. Players started trickling in at 7:30 filing through the swag lines, receiving their Adidas baseball attire consisting of a hat, a gold trimmed Super 60 jersey, pants and Adidas branded stirrups then made their way to the Mizuno table to retrieve the custom Mizuno Pro glove they design once they accepted invitations to the invitation to the prestigious event. Shortly after the majority of players had arrived, the scouts started flowing in and they continued to in waves until it a crowd of well over 100 Major League Baseball scouts populated the event to take in the top prospect the 2020 class had to offer.

The 60 Yard Dash was the first station with scout surrounding the start line and finish line.

Batting practice was next, with Blast Motion tracking each hitters swing.

Following batting practice, the outfielders set the tone for the defensive portion with Maryland’s Alex Greene throwing an event best 97 mph.

The infielders were up next with prospect after prospect showing the off their flashy actions and velocity with Harold Coll tossing an easy 97 mph across the diamond.

Our Nevada representative Paulshawn Pasqualotto, a power arm out of Palo Verde committed to California, showed up with the pitchers group an hour and a half into the event to receive his Adidas Super 60 uniform then making his way over the Mizuno booth who presented him with his custom all black Mizuno Pro with gold trim throughout the glove included the gold PSP stitched into the side of the glove.  Another detail that made each glove even more special was the word or short phrase that each player had the opportunity to have stitched inside the palm of the glove with our representative choosing the word “FEARLESS” as a small reminder each time he slides his hand.

As Pasqualotto’s turn approached he began his warm-up routine, then headed to the bullpen with his catcher to get hot for his turn on the mound.

Making his way out to the mound, he carried a confident and swagger about him and he impressed with his ability to spot up each of his pitches with his go-to pitch, changeup, showing heavy sink and fade to the arms side and a tight slider that lived in the zone throughout his bullpen with state-of-the-art Trackman and Driveline systems tracking every aspect of each of his pitches.

The Super 60 Statistical Analysis from the event has been announcement today and you can check out how Paulshawn stacked up against the best in the country. An excellent performance by a great kid who made sure to follow up after he left for the airport with a text reading, “Thank you again for inviting me, was an amazing event!” Nevada was represented very well.
