Uncommitted Spotlight: '20 CJ Stanton

CJ Stanton is a big framed first baseman at 6-foot-2 with projectable tools at the plate and in the field. The unsigned senior is an middle of the order bat, hitting .355 as a junior last season for Legacy High School. A standouts at the Legacy Scout Day in January, he showcased an impressive round of batting practice, driving the ball with increase pull side power staying mostly in the middle of the field throughout the round. Defensively, he has improved his footwork around the bag at first base, making him a valuable asset to any infielder as a big target with athleticism. Stanton has made obvious improvement physically, adding both strength and size to his frame improving from a 165-pound lean, wiry build to a 190-pound strong, athletic build over that past year.

"CJ has been a hard worker for our program since day one. Last year he solidified himself as one of the top hitters in our conference, earning him Second Team All-Conference as a designated hitter. He was off to a great start this year until our season came to an end, hitting .333 with one homerun in just four games.
