Uncommitted Spotlight: '20 Jack Weise

Brett Harrison
Nevada Scouting Director

Bishop Manogue's Jack Weise is a 2020 IF/RHP prospect that stood out as a one of the top uncommitted prospects in state at the Northern Nevada Scout Day where he showed off his easy stroke with pull side power while driving balls from gap to gap throughout his batting practice session. He then showed comfort moving to both sides at shortstop where he showed off clean actions topping out at 86 mph across then diamond. On the mound, he topped out at 85 mph with a changeup at 71-73 mph that had downward action from his high 3/4 arm slot, a 12/6 curveball that ranged from 67-69 mph with flashes of backup action and knuckleball that had a similar 12/6 action to his curveball, but came in at 65-67 mph.

Following his performance at the Northern Nevada Scout Day, Weise has continued to prove himself as a prospect with an impressive showing at the High School Kickoff Tournament in Southern Nevada and a two hit day including a homerun in yesterday's game against Del Oro (CA). So far in this young season, Weise has hit .368 with a homerun and four doubles while striking out 8 batters in his 6.0 innings of work this season. Weise has already attracted the attention of schools throughout the west coast and looks to be one of the next prospects to be coming off the board in Nevada.
