As the we begin the Winter Season, heading into the first "normal" Spring since 2019, the next few months will be critical for players in the Class of 2022 as collegiate programs at each level are solidifying their recruiting rosters. The NCAA Recruiting Calendar allows for limited contact during the current time period and as a result of that, recruiting coordinators have turned to social media and website coverage of players to help provide objective insight on potential prospects. With that, we will begin highlighting the top prospects the Silver State has to offer in an effort to get our players with college aspirations an opportunity at the next level, wherever that may be with the Uncommitted Spotlight feature.

Joey Schimick - Faith Lutheran | OF/lhp

Schimick is an Under the Radar, LVR/Faith Lutheran product that has proven time and time again his tools that will translate to the next level. This is not a player that plays with a ton of flash, he understands his game and plays with a high IQ to go with his PBR Verified 6.95 Laser Timed 60 that would allow him to hold down either corner outfield spot with the chance to hold down a premium position in centerfield if his speed continues to trend positively like it has over the past year. His improved speed has helped take his game to the next level over the past year, but one thing that has always been present is his left handed bat that has lived in the heart of the order for the Crusaders over the past few years and should play a key role in the success of a talented Faith Lutheran that has aspirations for a deep run this Spring. This is a prospect who held his own against the top Uncommitted prospects in the West Region at the inaugural West Coast Games and is a player we expect to be one of the next few off the board in Nevada's 2022 Class.
