Upperclass Top Prospect Games: Pitcher Analysis

The Upperclass Top Prospect Games featured some of the top prospects in the 2022 and 2023 classes with a majority of them still Uncommitted. The event consisted of a Pro-Style Workout that included a Laser Timed 60 Yard Dash, Batting Practice tracked by Blast Motion and Trackman, Catcher Evaluations, Outfield Evaluations, Infield Evaluations with the Pitcher Evaluations taking place during the Simulated Game on Day 2 of the event with the help of TrackMan. The event was designed highlighted each players abilities using the most advanced technology in the game with complete player reports coming from all the information collected in the Driveline Player Report. Following a Prep Baseball Report event, players received unrivaled access to their advanced ball-tracking and swing metrics through the TrackMan and Blast Connect apps as well as the players metrics snapshot uploaded directly to their PBR Player Profiles.

piTCHER ANALYSIS

Brady Ballinger LHP / 1B / Green Valley , NV / 2023 Delivery: Works exclusively out of the stretch. More tall/tilt in his delivery. Lands on line to home. Balanced finish over his front side.  Arm Action: LH. Long arm cycle with some looseness. High ¾ slot. Repeats well. FB: 72-74 mph. Up to 74.51 mph. Some downhill action. Throws for strikes. SL: 70-71 mph. Late sweep. Works down. KN: 68-69 mph. Developing pitch. Locates down in the zone.

Kody Bialas 3B / RHP / Palo Verde , NV / 2023 Delivery: Quick paced, efficient delivery. Works mostly as a thrower. Tall/tilt type. Lands slightly closed with follow through pulling him towards 1B. Much more in the tank as his continues to incorporate his lower half. Arm Action: RH. Short, quick arm cycle. High ¾. FB: 85-86 mph. Up to 86.13 mph. Attacks early with FB. Some life. CB: 73-74 mph. Flashed sharp late action. Works well off his FB.

Lucas Boesen RHP / 3B / Bishop Gorman, NV / 2022 Delivery: Slow, controlled motion. Drop and drive type delivery. Lands slightly closed. Follow through pulls him towards 1B side. Much more to come as he continues to polish his delivery. Arm Action: RH. Short arm cycle. ¾ to high ¾ slot. FB:79-81 mph. Up to 81.54 mph. Ball jumps out of his hand coming from a slow delivery. Locates well. Can move it in and out. CB: 67-68 mph. Good shape. Some loop, but is tighter when he works down.

Traivon Dyson SS / RHP / Sierra Vista, NV / 2022 Delivery: Slow paced, rhythmic motion. Tall/tilt type. Some leg swing that lands slightly closed. Reach with the front side creates some rotational swing. Athletic in his delivery with upside. Arm Action: RH. ¾ to high ¾. Looseness that produces some arm side life.  FB: 77-79 mph. Up to 79.13 mph. Some arm side life.   CB: 64-65 mph. Tends to curl his arm. Good shape. Works mostly down. CH: 59-63 mph. Some slowing up and shortening of the arm.

Stephen Bryce Ferrer-Leo LHP / 1B / Palo Verde, NV / 2023 Delivery: Compact, quick delivery. Tall/tilt type. Coils at the peak of his leg kick. Works with pace. Lands on line to home with his finish pulling him towards to 3B side. Arm Action: LH. Short, quick arm cycle. Works straight back out of his glove. Repeats his slot well.  FB: 74-77 mph. Up to 78.99 mph. Improving command. Some arm side life. SL: 68-70 mph. Some sweeping action. Comes out of his hand similar to his FB.  CH: 67-68 mph. Commands it well. Slightly slows up his arm speed.

Nicolo Guevara RHP / 1B / Faith Lutheran , NV / 2022 Delivery: Clean, compact delivery with fluidity. High swinging leg kick with some backward lean at peak. Lands slightly closed with a balanced finish over his front side.  Arm Action: RH. Long, loose arm action. Works well with much more in the tank.  FB: 83-86 mph. Up to 85.80 mph. Works down. Flashes of ASR. CB: 70-73 mph. 11/5 shape with some late bite. Locates well. Go to secondary pitch. CH: 69-70 mph. Developing pitch. Works down and misses down.

Brant Hannon 2B / RHP / Rancho , NV / 2022 Delivery: Rhythmic, toe tap delivery. Some looseness, but repeats well. Athletic features with different arm slots to vary looks. Lands on line to home with a finish over his front side. Arm Action: RH. Loose, ¾ to low ¾ slot. Changes slots to vary looks on his pitches. FB: 72-75 mph. Up to 75.75 mph. Some arm side life. Pounds the zone. CB: 60-61 mph. Some 11/5, some sweeping action. Showed his ability to command. CH: 70-71 mph. Cut action. Gets around it to look similar to his breaking ball.

Mack Harris RHP / 3B / Green Valley, NV / 2022 Body: 5-foot-9, 160 pounds. Delivery: Rhythmic delivery with some tempo. Hands lift over the head, remain in sync with coiled peak leg kick. Drop and drive type. Some effort. Ball seems to jump out his hand. Lands on line, finished towards 3B side.  Arm Action: RH. Loose, quick arm action. Repeats well. FB: 83-84 mph. Up to 85.48 mph. Lived mostly around the knees, but missed up when he did miss. Is able to move it in and out. CB: 66-69 mph. Some loop in its shape. Flashed back up action. Tended to miss up.

Trevor LaPres OF / RHP / Lake Mead Christian Academy, NV / 2023 Delivery: Work exclusively from the stretch. Closed set up with a simple slide step stride. Drop and drive delivery. Lands slightly closed with a balanced finish over his front side.  Arm Action: RH. Long, controlled arm action. High ¾ slot.  FB: 72-76 mph. Up to 77.33 mph. Strike thrower. Some arm side life. CB: 61-64mph. 12/6 shape with some loop action. Effective when he keeps it down in the zone. CH: 68-69 mph. Some heaviness. Natural sink with some fade.

Reese Lueck RHP / 2B / Palo Verde, NV / 2022 Body: 6-foot-0, 170 pounds. Delivery: Clean, compact delivery with toe tap into his swinging leg kick. Legs swings out with his stride into a closed landing. Easy balanced finish with some fall to the 1B side. Arm Action: RH. Loose, quick arm action. ¾ to low ¾ slot. Can vary slots to change looks. FB: 82-84 mph. Up to 84.56 mph. Easy ASR. Locates well. Works down. Some jump. SL: 71-73 mph. Some frisbee action, some late tight action. CH: 73-74 mph. Present sink and fade. Works well off his FB. Ryan Martinez RHP / 3B / Centennial, NV / 2022 Body: 6-foot-1, 180 pounds.  Delivery: Polished, rhythmic delivery. Works directional towards his target, landing on line. Erick McKendry RHP / 1B / Bishop Gorman, NV / 2022 Body: 6-foot-0, 160 pounds. Delivery: Clean, polished delivery with tempo. Works directional towards his target. Lands slightly closed. Throws over a high front side. Repeats his delivery well.  Arm Action: RH. Long, loose. High ¾. Consistent. FB: 81-82 mph. Up to 83.44 mph. Pounds the zone. Can move it in and out. Works mostly around the knees, but can elevate when he needs to. CB: 62-64 mph. 12/6 shape with some flashes of back up. Effective down in the zone. CH: 67-71 mph. Excellent feel for his CH. Lands on line with a finish falling over his front side. Repeats his delivery well with control. Arm Action: RH. Short, whippy arm action. Repeats his slot well. FB: 78-80 mph. Up to 81.21 mph. Some arm side action. Works in the zone. SL: 67-68 mph. Good shape with some sweep. Flashes back up action. Effective down in the zone. CH: 68-69 mph. Some heaviness with flashes of cut. Works down.

Gavin Moreno LHP / 1B / Spanish Springs , NV / 2022 Body: 6-foot-2, 195 pounds. Delivery: Works exclusively out of the stretch. Comes set narrow, slightly closed. Hides the ball at his hip when he comes set. Stays hidden well during his delivery. Lands on line to home with a balanced finished over his front side.  Arm Action: LH. Short, quick arm action. Hides the ball well. Repeats his slot. High ¾.  FB: 80-83 mph. Up to 83.14 mph. Ball jumps from being hidden. Commands it well.  SL: 69-71 mph. Works well of his FB. Comes out on same plane. Lands slightly closed with tendency to finish falling to 1B side.  Arm Action: RH. Quick arm cycle. High ¾. Repeats well.  FB: 84-85 mph. Up to 85.88 mph. Aiden Pollock OF / RHP / Bishop Gorman , NV / 2023 Delivery: Athletic, compact delivery. Works with pace. Rhythmic toe tap into high peaking leg kick. Some coil at peak. Stays tall throughout. Lands on line with balanced finish over his front side.  Arm Action: RH. Loose, quick arm. Works primarily out of high ¾. Flashed his ability to drop down on his breaking ball to vary look. Tyler Ray RHP / 1B / Rancho, NV / 2022 Delivery: Controlled tempo through his motion. Slow start into some effort in his release. Gets himself down the mound. Lands on line. Finishes balances with some tendency to fall off to 1B side when he gears up for FB. Arm Action: RH. Drop and go type. High ¾ slot. Some varying of arm speed on certain pitches. FB: 81-82 mph. Dominick Rush OF / RHP / Liberty , NV / 2023 Delivery: Slow, tempoed delivery. Controlled throughout. Soft landing on his front side with a balanced finish. Repeats well. Low effort.  Arm Action: RH. Quick, fluid arm cycle. High ¾ slot. FB: 80-82 mph. Up to 82.17 mph. Commands well in the zone. Works down. CB: 70-73 mph. Good shape with flashes of sweep. Comes out on same plane as FB. Locates well.

Jackson Sadler 1B / RHP / Reno, NV / 2023 Delivery: Compact, clean delivery with pace. Gets down the hill towards his target. Lands on line to his target. Balanced finish with some tendency to fall to glove side. Still raw with a ton of upside. Arm Action: RH. Long, loose arm. High ¾. Flashes ability to drop down to ¾ to vary look.  FB: 84-86 mph. Up to 87.32 mph. Present downhill action. Some jump out of the hand.  CB: 67-70 mph. Good shape. Comes out similar to FB. Works down in the zone.  CH: 78-79 mph. Developing pitch. Anthony Victoravich OF / LHP / Coronado, NV / 2023 Delivery: Athletic start. Works with pace through his delivery. Drop and drive type. Controlled, high peaking leg kick. Lands on line to home. Finished over his front side with some tendency to fall to 3B side.  Arm Action: LH. Quick arm cycle. Stab and go type. Stays hidden well. High ¾ slot. FB: 73-75. mph. Up to 76.06 mph.
