TEAM RANKINGS - WEEK 1
Rank | Team | Record (Previous Rank) |
1 | Basic Academy | 2-1 (1) |
The Wolves came out of the gates with thee Top 5 matchups, going 2-1 behind a stout lineup that has already proven to be able to do damage 1 through 9. The only question mark with this team was how their rotation would hold up and those questions have been answered with Villarreal, Evans standing tall in their starts with Oregon commit, Giles, assuming the role of the top reliever with his FB cruising in the upper 80's with improved command of his FB/SL mix.
2 | Bishop Gorman | 3-2 (3) |
The Gaels righted the ship in the first full week of play, after an Opening Day loss to top ranked Basic Academy, with a pair of run rule wins against Shadow Ridge before heading to SoCal to take on two perennial baseball powers in St. John Bosco and Matre Dei where they were able to come away 1-1. Whitaker put together a massive performance against SJB, going 7 shutout innings with clutch RBI double from Kajioka being the difference in game.
3 | Palo Verde | 6-2 (4) |
The Panthers split their Week 1 series with top ranked Basic behind a standout performance on the mound from GCU Signee, Tanner Johns. Big offensive performances will be key for Palo this Spring after losing their #1 and #2 on the mound last year, but this lineup could get it done. Big weeks from Clauss, Dallimore, Jefferies, Johns and Herrera propel this group up to the #3 spot.
4 | Faith Lutheran | 2-5 (2) |
After a grueling Opening Weekend in Texas where Faith faced some of the top teams in the Lone Star State, the Crusaders quickly got back on track as they went 2-0 on the week against a talented Liberty team. This group has the depth on the mound the 1 through 9 to make have a huge Spring and this may have been the jumpstart needed to make that happen.
5 | Las Vegas | 6-1 (6) |
The Wildcats already start their ascension up the Team Rankings after their 6-1 start that saw them put together two Top 10 wins on the week against a tough Desert Oasis team behind standout performances on the mound from arguably NV's Top Uncommitted '25 arm, Ponticello, and standout '26 arm, M. Martinez. Las Vegas is set for an early test in Week 2 with another pair of Top 10 matchups against (#6) Centennial and (#3) Palo Verde.
6 | Centennial | 4-2 (8) |
The Bulldogs have already announced their presence this Spring as a group that could get it done on both sides of the ball with a mixture of senior leadership and a youthful injection into the heart of their lineup. Breakout starts from '27, Turner, and '28, Otis, may be the difference between this group being a deep playoff run caliber team to a State Tounament type team. Keep an eye on the Centenniall arms as well, lead by 2x Future Gamer, Barber, along with Soto, Baxter, Cornman, Turner, Tiberi and Bergstrom.
7 | Bishop Manogue | 4-3 (5) |
The Miners open up their season with a 4-3 record with couple of tight losses, but proved they can hang with the top teams in the states with one of the deepest pitching rotations of any team this Spring. Lead by Upperclassmen, Czyz, Dolan and Durst, expect this group to catch their stride quickly as they have two big matchups this weeks the Reed and McQueen.
8 | Arbor View | 3-1 (9) |
One of the Sleeper teams of 2025 is the Arbor View Aggies who quietly continue to climb the Team Rankings after a 3-1 start. Lead by seniors, Blais, Long and DeSantis, this group has already proven to be able to swing it 1 through 9 and has h the depth on the mound that makes them a team that no one looks forward to facing. A big week ahead as they are set to face (#2) Bishop Gorman for a two game series that will be a early test to see what this group is made of.
9 | Reno | 5-3 (7) |
Reno, a historical power in Nevada baseball, is off to a 5-3 start after their trip down to Las Vegas along with a pair of games last week in Reno. This is a group notorious for finding their rhythm as the year progresses and always seems to be peaking at the right time. The Senior leadership in Edwards, Dalen and Chick will get this group dialed in quickly along with their sophomore catalysts, Riley and Jones.
10 | Foothill | 6-2 (NR) |
The Falcons earn their way into the Top 10 after a hot 6-2 start, behind senior loaded group that will lead the way on both sides of the ball. A busy week ahead for Foothill as they have four games slotted, including a series against a tough Desert Oasis team, that will be a great early test for this group. Keep this group on your radar as a team that could make some serious noise this Spring. |
