Tell us More...

Tell us about your commitment to NJIT. Why did you decide on your school?
- Great mixture of academics and athletics.
- Close to home.
- Amazing coaching staff and facilities.
- Comfortable and convenient campus

The offseason is upon us. Tell us a little about your off-season training:
I’ve been working on skill work such as hitting and fielding a few days of the week and the other days I’ve been doing weight lifting and speed and agility. My workout includes : squatting, leg press, rows, Lat pull downs, dumbbell bench press, ladder, sprints, core exercises, etc...

Baseball is a game built on adversity & failure. How have you dealt with the the ups & downs the game brings? Who might have helped you along the way?
I’ve dealt with the ups and downs by always remembering that every day is a new day and every at bat is a new at bat. I try to build off of weak performances by playing my next game even harder and focusing on how to better my performance. If you’re afraid to fail, then why even play. My older brother and father have helped me along the way and pushed me to train my mind so that I can take failure in a more positive light and use it to fuel my next performance.

Who is your biggest influence in the game today?
My father. To me, he’s one of the most knowledgeable people when it comes to baseball and I always try to take in as much from him as I can. He’s taught me not only how to better the physical aspect of the game but also how to better the mental aspect of the game.

Best player you ever shared the field with and why?
Anthony Tirado. He was my high school teammate for one year and he’s one of the most naturally gifted players I’ve ever played with. I remember one game he hit 3 home runs and the next week he pitched a shut out game in the playoffs while striking out more than 10. Talk about all around player.

How has your experience been with Prep Baseball Report?
PBR has been amazing. I’ve been able to showcase my talents and skills while understanding that I will get seen by hundreds of college coaches. A PBR showcase is one of the best investments a young baseball player like me can make.

Most embarrassing moment on a ball-field?
One time I went to throw the ball from 3rd base and the ball slipped out my hand and went backwards and it was funny but I also felt embarrassed.

In Closing...

The ultimate long term goal is what?
Ultimate long term goal is making it to the MLB. I want to push myself and try to make it as far along this journey as possible. Also, I want to become as educated as possible and get a degree. My parents have always stressed academics first and I want to accomplish that for them and myself.
