Scouting Report
New York Games (July 2015) Standing at 5-foot-10-inches, 160-pounds has a small, athletic body type. Aggressive and shows quality range in the field, stays deep with glove and looks balls into his hands when receiving, throws at a high-3/4 arm slot and has good accuracy to target. Behind the plate he uses a wide base, receives with confidence, uses very quick hands and a clean transfer. Accurate sub 2.0 pop time to second. At the plate shows a balanced and open stance, uses a smooth back load and long stride to generate potential power at contact, hands stay long and over the plate with some uphill tilt of bat plane. Shows projection as a hitter with solid contact ability.

Our Take
One thing I love about this job is getting to personally know all the kids we see through events - it's hard to keep track of them all but some really standout. O'Shei was one of those who did - he's hard-nosed, cerebral behind the plate with a cannon hooked to his right shoulder. Being critical, his bat needs to improve, get stronger, and become an all-around player - he's currently working hard at checking those off the list. He takes his next-level game to the PSAC (Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference) where he hopes to make an early impact for the D2 Golden Knights.

2016 New  York Games

Prep Baseball Report New York is pleased to announce the 2016 New York Games will take place on June 28 - July 1 in Rochester NY. The 2016 New York Games is expected to be the most recruited and scouted event of the summer.

Scouts from three MLB franchises attended the 2015 games along with coaches from more than 70 colleges including Division I schools such as Bryant, St. John’s, St. Bonaventure, Cornell, Villanonva, Niagara, Iona, Radford, Campbell, Buffalo, Kent State, North Carolina Central, Boston College and Monmouth just to name a few.

More than 40 of last year’s participants registered 60 times under 7.049 players delivered exit velocities of 85 MPH or better. 10 catchers notched pop times south of 2.0. 3B Frankie Pizzo (Shenendehowa HS, 2016) topped 18 infielders who threw north of 80 registering 89 MPH across the diamond while 20 players threw 80 or better from the outfield.

The 2015 games brought together New York’s top talent from Long Island to Buffalo and everywhere in between. Nearly 190 players attended last years unique three-day event, as a result more than 20 players have received offers to play at the Division I level - several dozen more will go on to play college baseball. The 2016 games will only be better.
