New York Insider: Updated And Expanded 2017 Rankings Released

Dan Cevette
Director, New York

Over the course of six months, which has spanned the high school season, state-specific and the national summer showcase circuit, our scouting staff has been hard at work, with a particular focus on the Class of 2017. In that span, many rising juniors have taken significant leaps forward, which in turn have created massive shakeups in the New York 2017 rankings.

Our updated New York Top 75 2017 rankings reflect everything our boots-on-the-ground scouting staff has seen since the beginning of the spring, the PBR Future Games in August, and culminating at the recent WNY and ENY All-Star Games this fall.

The recent expansion jumps from an early top 40, to now a more thorough, in-depth top 75 players spread across the Empire State. Although fairy weak with commitments overall (not uncommon in the Northeast), seven players in our top 10 are committed to major D1 baseball programs - including the SEC, ACC and the BIG 10.

No. 1 in the 2017 class is RHP Nicholas Storz (Poly Prep Country Day).
