Jeff Limoncelli’s Southern Tier Region lineup will include five of his state-ranked Horseheads Blue Raiders.

Keegan Ernest (2017), Zac Granger (2017), Michael Limoncelli (2019), Andrew Thompson (2018) and Frank Wayman (2018) contributed to a squad which finished 19-2 on the season and ranked as high as fourth in the state.

Ernest finished 5-0 with a 1.70 ERA.

“He’s getting quite of interest,” Limoncelli said of the 5-foot-11, 185-pound left-hander.

Wayman hit .310 for Horseheads.

Michael Limoncelli, the coach’s son, hit .333 this past season. The right-hander has been clocked throwing 88-89 mph.

Alex Bardo (2018), Trevor Henneman (2018), Steven Rossi (2018) and Zachary Turner (2017) helped Corning-Painted Post (IV) reach the NYSPHSAA Class AA quarterfinals. The Hawks finished the regular season 16-4 before falling to Roy C. Ketcham (I).

Parker (2017) and Pierce Hendershot (2019) were part of Tioga (IV) squad which advanced to the Class C quarter-finals before falling to Immaculate Heart (III).

“Parker is a big, strong kid,” Limoncelli said. “He hits it as well as anyone.”

Timothy Buchek (2018) will get the start when Southern Tier opens against Genesee Valley.

“He throws pretty hard,” Limoncelli stated. “A lot of people are talking about him.”

Buchek will throw for two innings before Michael Limoncelli takes over for a pair of innings. Bardo will pitch two stanzas, and Parker Hendershot will finish the opener.
