RECENT SHOWCASE HISTORY:

ENY All-Star Games (September 17, 2017) Bristow stands in at 5-foot-9, 165-pounds with a lean athletic frame. Offensively- Smooth swing with fluid body mechanics. Sets up square to the pitcher utilizing whole body frame in swing. Has an upward lift barrel path with potential gap to gap power. Swing looks free and easy with a lot of potential. Recorded an exit velocity 86 MPH, a 6 MPH increase from his previous best measure of 81 MPH set in July 2017. Defensively- Show a good approach getting underneath the baseball. Overall process of the transfer into the throw could be quicker. Crow hop mechanics are smooth gaining good ground on the throw. Moves well left/right and was accurate with his throws. Recorded a positional arm velocity of 76 MPH, 5 MPH shy of his best mark at 81 MPH set in July 2017.

WNY All-Star Games (September 24, 2017) Bristow stands in at 5-foot-9, 160-pounds with a lean athletic frame. Offensively- Righty sets up square to the pitcher with his feet just outside his shoulders. Shows a slight knee bend with an upright torso holding the bat in front of his back shoulder using little pre-pitch bat movement. On pitch, his trigger is a toe tap to stride forward while his hands move back into his hitting position. Utilizes good lower body rotation clearing the hips and getting the whole-body frame involved in the swing. Shows quick hands to the zone with a level barrel path throughout into a high two-handed finish. Demonstrated potential line drive ability up the middle and to the pull side during batting practice round. Recorded an exit velocity of 80 MPH, 1 MPH shy of his previous best recorded mark of 81 MPH set in July 2017. Overall a smooth fluid swing with high potential. Defensively- Good footwork and approach getting to the baseball. Shows good crow hop mechanics gaining ground throughout the transfer into a strong outfielder arm swing. Was accurate on throws and recorded a positional arm velocity of 75 MPH, 6 MPH shy of his previous best mark of 81 set in July 2017.

WHAT TO EXPECT

"Bristow has consistently put up sub 7.0 60 times, with a fast indoor track it will be interesting to see what he can do on Feb. 11th. Always has displayed an accurate arm, early in the preseason we may not see peak numbers but expect a fundamental approach and release. At the plate Bristow has always displayed great balance and repeatable mechanics; will be looking to see a more direct swing path that stays in the hitting zone. Should be big year for the 2019 grad."
