On Deck Preview: Junior Future Games Roster (14U)

For the first time in the history of the Future Games, New York will be represented at the younger levels. Here's a full breakdown of the Junior Futures squad (2022 and a select few 2023's) that will be joining us in Indianapolis next week.

Note: There are no "pitcher onlys" so the pitching preview is also included under that players positional preview.

Junior Future Games Schedule

Catchers

Nicholas Badillo C / 3B / Lakeland , NY / 2022

Tremendous athlete at 5-foot-11 175 pounds. Features a strong arm at 72 MPH behind the plate, runs well and has shown some bat speed (82 MPH exit velo).

 

Owen Stewart RHP / C / Elmira Notre Dame, NY / 2022

Lean frame; open stance with a flat barrel path through the zone. Behind the plate he has show quick feet with a clean transfer. Arm will only continue to develop. On the mound there is an uptempo pace working 69-72 MPH with a big, over-the-top CB at 55-56 MPH.

 

John Russell C / 1B / Eastchester , NY / 2022

Lean frame at 5-foot-10 145 pound frame; flat path through the zone. Clean footwork and exchange behind the plate with accurate, on-the-bag throws. Pop times as low as 2.18 with 68 MPH arm strength. 

 

 

Kyle Bailey C / 3B / South Orangetown, NY / 2022

Compact frame with a balanced stroke from the right side. Accurate arm behind the plate; looking forward to seeing him again.

 

 

 

Outfielders

Gavyn Boyle OF / 1B / Royalton-Hartland, NY / 2022

Strong 6-foot-1 160 pound frame who has shown solid contact from the left side of the plate with some future power potential. Arm has been 75 MPH from the OF with an 82 MPH exit velocity; also has run a 7.31 60. 

 

 

Ryan Foody LHP / OF / South Orangetown , NY / 2023

Projectable LHP at 6-foot-1 170 pounds that works in the 68-70 MPH range. Offers a repeatable delivery with a 3 pitch mix. At the plate there is some coil with acceleration through the zone; active around the bag a 1B, quality defender who will see time at 1B and in OF. 

 

 

Jaime C. Padilla 3B / C / Archbishop Stepinac, NY / 2022

Strong frame at 5-foot-7 170 pounds. Can also catch where he's shown an accurate arm at 71 MPH. From the outfield he's shown a fundamental approach with his arm up to 75 MPH; soild contact at the plate with a balanced swing. 

 

 

Vincent Fraterrigo RHP / OF / Archbishop Stepinac, NY / 2022

Lean 6-foot-0 154 pound frame with a strong arm for his age from the OF at 77 MPH. Balance approach at the plate; stays in the zone for an extended period of time. On the mound he offers plenty of projection as the arm action is long and loose from a high 3/4 slot at 76 MPH with his peak FB. 

 

 

Corner Infielders

Zachary Fike LHP / 1B / Medina , NY / 2022

Athletic 6-foot-0 160 pound LHH with some bat speed through the zone (exit velocity up to 80 MPH). Moves well around the bag at 1B with and accurate throwing arm and clean release. Projects well on the mound with a 3-pitch mix in the 73-74 MPH range with command. 

 

Russell Hunter 3B / RHP / Croton-Harmon , NY / 2022

Strong frame at 5-foot-10 185 pounds; flashes some pop at the plate (83 MPH exit velo). Steady defender from the left side with an accurate arm across the diamond. On the mound he's worked in the 73 MPH range with his FB with a short infielder's arm action.

 

Gavin McBeath 3B / RHP / Lockport, NY / 2023

Throughly impressed the PBR-NY staff this winter with his efforts on both sides of the ball. Athletic 6-foot-0 153 pound frame with some whip through the zone. Average and power potential. Projects well on the mound with a repeatable , up tempo delivery working through a high 3/4 slot. Touched 76 MPH back in February. 

 

 

Middle Infielders

Wyatt Parliament RHP / SS / LaFargeville , NY / 2022

Athletic frame at 5-foot-10 160 pounds; ranges well up the middle with a suitable left side arm. Spread, balanced stroke from the right side with some hard contact. Impressive on the mound as he recently worked in the 78-79 MPH range, touching 81 MPH with a controlled delivery. Older brother Owen is back for his second trip to Indiana on the older Future Games squad. 

 

 

Michael Lombardi SS / RHP / Fox Lane, NY / 2022

Strong, athletic frame at 5-foot-11 175 pounds; explodes through the zone with a short in, long through approach. Uses the middle of the field well. Steady left-side defender who will makes the plays with a 75 MPH arm that works across the diamond. 

 

Alex Chrisman RHP / SS / Horseheads, NY / 2022

High end athlete that impressed our scouting staff early this summer. The RHP/SS impressed on both sides of the ball showing athletic actions up the middle while working 72-75 MPH on the mound, touching 78 MPH. Looking forward to seeing him again.
