David Verrett, RHP, Cicero North HS, NY (2016)
Verrett stands 6-foot-5, 220-pounds with a great pitchers frame. On the mound he starts tall and falls on his back side when he pushes forward. His front side opens up too early and he leans with shoulder tilt towards the first base side. He throws from an over-the-top slot with a fastball sitting 76-78 mph. He has some deception with a lot of downhill plan. His curveball was 65 mph with late action and a 11/4 shape. He has a great deal of ceiling if he can continue to improve.

Analysis:
Verrett has unbelievable size and ceiling on the mound at 6-foot-5, 220-pounds. He needs to stay taller, longer on his back side and use that size god gave him. Arm strength is only 76-78 mph, but there is velocity projection in his arm and a serious arm strengthening program is just what the doctor ordered. No question there is talent and projection from the Cicero North HS RHP, this winter allows him the time to get better.
