Top Performer Spotlight: 2021 C Brandon Biggane (Columbia HS)

Dan Cevette
President, New York

Since June 7th, our boot-on-the-ground scouting team have seen 500+ players at showcase events, including the 2019 NYS Games. Already, 100's of players have caught the eyes of our professional scouting staff, all with dreams of playing baseball at the next-level. Over the remainder of the summer I (Dan Cevette) will be highlighting "Top Performer Spotlights" on players who really stood-out and offering my "Quick-Hit" thoughts on the players.

Cevette's quick hit

CEVETTE'S QUICK HIT: Shows signs of durability behind the plate, average footwork but throws are quick/strong to the bag, with an emphasis quickness this winter his pop-times would go down even more than the 2.09 he showed at the NYS Games.  I really like the approach at the plate. It's relaxed and balanced, fluid, level, and repeatable swing path, short/compact, line-drive approach. Fun catching prospect to keep close eyes on.
Scouting Report: 6/25/19

A Physical frame at 5-foot-11,190 pounds. Ran a 7.63 in the 60 yard dash. Offensively- The right handed hitter stands in the box in a slightly open stance, feet shoulder width apart. Has a quick direct path to the baseball. Does a good job getting full extension after the point of contact. Shows pop to the pull side. Stays balanced throughout his swing. Top exit velocity was 84 MPH. Defensively- As a Catcher, Shows active footwork. Shows an above average exchange and a quick release from a high ¾ arm slot. Top throwing velocity was 74 MPH. Pop time ranged from a 2.09-2.21. The 2021 graduate is a must follow.
