Winter Recap: Top Infield Arm Strength

Jared Carrier
Scouting Director

As the dust (or snow) starts to settle in here in New York, let's take a look back at our two week stretch of events from February 11th through February 25th. We witnessed 227 infielders work out; 52 eclipsed the 78 MPH mark with 29 over 80 MPH. Here are the 10 players that registered 83 MPH or better across the diamond.

89 MPH

Jacob Lapham RHP / SS / Lansingburgh, NY / 2020

Impressive all-around athlete from the Capitol District at 6-foot-1 170 pounds. Ran a 4.33 home-to-1B and was up 83 MPH off the mound.

88 MPH

Noah Campanelli SS / 2B / McQuaid Jesuit, NY / 2019

One of the top defenders in the state from the Rochester area continues to make strides cutting his 60 to a 6.93 while bumping his exit velocity to 91 MPH. Arm was up 3 MPH from previous best. Tremendous off-season.

Casey Saucke II SS / RHP / Greece Athena, NY / 2021

Another Rochester area player on the upswing. Saucke ran a 6.98 60, posted an 87 MPH exit velocity and sat 83-84, touching 85 MPH with an above average change up.

87 MPH

Kevin Bowrosen 3B / OF / Miller Place, NY / 2020

The Long Island player showed a free and easy bat, ran a 4.05 home-to-1B from the left side and was 84-85 MPH on the mound.

Patrick Jarvis RHP / SS / Manhasset, NY / 2021

Another Long Island athlete that jumped onto our radar. Showed a short, compact stroke in BP with a big finish. Sat 82-84 on the mound.

Aaron Perez SS / 2B / All Hallows , NY / 2019

A NYC talent that is committed to Maryland, showed off his soft hands with improved physicality. Swing was more polished and he continues to trend upward.

86 MPH

Robert Milopsky 3B / RHP / Rocky Point , NY / 2019

PBR-NY veteran from Long Island that is a solid dual prospect. Balanced approach from the right side and a more then adequate defender at the hot corner; was up to 87 MPH last summer at the NY games off the mound.

84 MPH

Kobe Stenson SS / Liverpool, NY / 2020

Silky smooth MIF from the Syracuse area that maximizes everything he can from a 5-foot-8 150 pound frame. Posted an 83 MPH exit velocity. Incredible ease to his game.

83 MPH

Tyler Edelman SS / 3B / Suffern, NY / 2019

Solid frame at 5-7 160 pounds for the Rockland County player that may project better at 3B over the long term. Compact, balanced stroke at the plate; posted an 86 MPH exit velocity. Part of a stacked 2019 infield at Suffern HS.

Alex Ungar SS / RHP / Connetquot, NY / 2020

Rangy 6-foot-2 170 pound frame for the Long Island resident. Balanced, middle of the field approach at the plate. Posted an 86 MPH exit velocity and sat 82-83 MPH on the mound, touching 84 MPH.
