2017 Spring Team Preview: Canton GlenOak

Team Name: Canton GlenOak
Head Coach:
Ray Frisbee, 1st year at GlenOak (39-39 Overall at Mapleton HS)
Division:
I
2016 Record:
14-10
Conference Record: Federal League, 5-7
Returning Starters/Pitchers:
6/6

2017 Team Strengths:

  • Speed
  • Pitching Depth
  • Team Chemistry

2017 Team Weaknesses:

  • Winning the tough games. Only won one game out of 5 that were decided by one run or less in the last inning. Need to gain more confidence in the later stages of games.
  • Scoring meaningful runs. Getting hits with two outs to bring runs in has a been a struggle.

Coach Outlook: “Excited for this season because we will bring back a wealth of experience (13-15 possible seniors, 2 juniors and 2 sophomores with varsity experience). Increased the schedule difficulty by adding Walsh Jesuit and Hudson to prepare for tough federal league schedule and tournament. Extremely honored to leading the program I played for and was a captain (2002 Final Four Team, 2002 graduate). This team is hungry to get GlenOak back to being a contender for the Federal League and district championship.”
