Many players impressed during their individual workouts at the showcase. 2021 Ohio Top Prospect Games: Quick Hits - Time To Buy Stock In

Brayden Krenzel RHP / OF / Dublin Jerome, OH / 2024

Report: When you hear us talk about prospects some will be highlighted for their production and some for their projection … not many 2024s have both. One of those guys is RHP Brayden Krenzel out of Jerome HS. From a physical traits (projection) standpoint he’s 6-foot-2, functionally athletic (Also QB on football team), and has velo in the mid 80s. From a production standpoint he’s a confident arm with the ability to locate three pitches consistently. Going to be a good one.

Jacob Bean RHP / OF / Cardinal, OH / 2023

Report: RHP Jacob Bean ( 2023 out of Cardinal HS ) showed some of the top uncoachable traits we saw of the two day event. You’re looking at a 6-foot-2 dude with long levers that could easily support added weight. When you also consider the athleticism, mobility and looseness in the arm he checks off a ton of boxes for a guy who’s going to throw harder down the road. As attractive as the ceiling is, the present product is also impressive up to 87mph (2300+rpms) with an above average breaking ball.

Cole Cahill 1B / LHP / Olentangy Orange, OH / 2023

Report: 2023 1B Cole Cahill is another one of those unique guys who has the best of both worlds when it comes to meshing production and projection.  His feel around the bag/ability to routinely find the barrell in the box allow him to presently impact the game on both sides of the ball. The fact that he’s 6-foot-3 with long-levers point to more projection down the road. On this day he took the top BP we’ve seen from him and once again put together quality at bats. Everyone who coaches him raves about the intangibles/work ethic as well so you can comfortably assume he’s going to continue to get better.

Mitchell Davis RHP / SS / Sidney, OH / 2024

Report: If you’re talking pure upside, RHP Mitchell Davis (Sydney) has to be near the top of your list from the event. The 6-foot-4 right-hander is a three-sport guy who still has things to clean up which is scary considering the freshman was up to 87mph with a 2400+rpm fastball and solid secondary. The physical traits here are obvious and everything continues to come together...look out.

Jackson Bergman RHP / 1B / Hicksville, OH / 2022

Report: 2022 RHP Jackson Bergman is another guy we think still has another jump left in there. A 6-foot-5 well above average athlete who showed sharp present stuff, with the ability to fill up the zone consistently. As he continues to fill out that long-limbed frame expect additional velo to a pitch that already gets on hitters quickly considering his length/mid 80s velocity. High ceiling here.

Thomas Ryan RHP / SS / St. Xavier, OH / 2022

Report: RHP Thomas Ryan (‘22 out of St. X) is a prospect who is about as low risk/high-reward as they come. Presently he is a good athlete who moves well on the hill with a mid 80s heater (T87) w/an above average breaking ball that he can drop in the zone whenever he wants. The combination of impending velocity jump, advanced feel for the zone, and the 3.94 GPA/29 ACT make him a guy college coaches won’t lose sleep over if they bring into their program.
