Although the recently released Overall 2022 Rankings was limited to 100 players, the talent in the class extends much further. This week, On the Hunt takes a look at some 2022 players who were not featured in the overall rankings, but are definitely players to follow moving forward. Still young, each of these players will likely develop much more in the future, and all have the athleticism and tools to progress quickly.

Tyler LeJeune SS / 2B / Iota, LA / 2022

LeJeune approaches pitches at the plate with the intent to do damage, and will likely be doing a lot of that over the next several years in high school. An athletic runner wo currently stands 5-foot-8, 155-pounds with a high waist, LeJeune looks “hitterish” as he tracks from the left side. Starting in a balanced, slightly open stance, his hands work deeper, down and back to separate as he strides. He has quick hands and strong wrists that he utilizes to strike the barrel through the ball on an uphill plane aided by an aggressive lower-half. He exhibits confidence in his hands as he cleanly fields ground balls, and his accurate arm should continue to gain strength as he matures. Overall, LeJeune’s all-around ability stands out at a young age, and as he continues to gain strength and more experience, expect him to progress at a rapid rate.
