We would like to thank all who participated in PBR Ohio's 2022 Scout Day: Triple Crown Royals. This was a great opportunity for the class of 2023-2025 prospects to be put on college radars. Many players impressed during their individual workouts at the showcase. Below we have the complete statistical results from the event as well as the top performers across various different categories.

2022 Organizational Spotlight: Triple Crown Royals

Dan Moss talks with us about the organization.

1) How do you feel the showcase went?
Moss: I think it went phenomenal. PBR did a wonderful job promoting it and promoting the kids afterward. We really enjoyed it. It was well run and we got all the kids through in three hours which was difficult to do.

2) Who are some of the prospects that stood out to you?

  • Kyle Warnsman, Dublin Coffman 2024 RHP - 83 fastball, threw strikes.
  • Taylor Bednar, Olentangy Berlin 2024 RHP. - 83 fastball, threw strikes.
  • Ian Moore, Olentangy Berlin 2023 IF 91 exit velo, 81 fastball.
  • Benji Perez, Johnstown Monroe 2023 SS - Smooth infielder. One of those kids that’s late maturing. He’s growing.
  • Also, Nate Hurley, Jared Moeller, Brock Amelung, Brennan  Hileman and Tyler Parks.

3) Any performances worth mentioning?

  • Nate Hurley, Olentangy Berlin 2023 RHP - 85 fastball, threw strikes, 92 exit velo, OF and IF velo good.
  • Jared Moeller, Olentangy Berlin 2023 - 95 exit velo and, with playing basketball, his first time on the mound since the fall. A 6-5 lefty, he topped at 82.
  • Brock Amelung, Olentangy Liberty 2023 RHP -  He’s been 90 exit velo and threw strikes with all his pitches. Fastball 90.
  • Brennan Hileman, St. Xavier 2023 3B - 96 exit velo and mid-80s fastball.
  • Tyler Parks, Bloom Carroll 2023 C - 94 exit velo, Charleston commit.

4) In looking at summer, touch on some highlights that are ahead and what you expect.
Moss: We have two brand new 16U teams that we’re excited about. We have a lot of good arms that throw strikes and a lot of kids that we think can be developed. Our big tournaments are Greensboro 17U and WWBA Tournament of Champions. We have a lot of colleges interested in our players. There has been a lot of growth with our 16s from the fall and we’re looking forward to seeing them play and seeing their arms.

5) Are you registered for any PBR tournaments and, if so, which ones and what are your thoughts on them?
Moss: There is one PBR event we’re doing. We usually do them in the fall rather than summer. We appreciate what Jordan (Chiero) and everyone at PBR does, the time they put in and the help they give us.
