With 2024 now in the past, Prep Baseball Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage that can be found anywhere in 2025. Starting in February, we began releasing team previews for squads across the state. Ahead, we will have Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings coming your way.

2025 Spring Team Preview: Granville Blue Aces

Team Name: Granville Blue Aces
Head Coach: Justin Richards
Division: III
2024 Record: 13-11
2024 Tourney Finish: Sectionals loss to London
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 7/6

Coach Outlook: "From pitching coach Mike Kopachy - We are very excited about our team this year. We return our top hitters led by junior center fielder Wilson Wells (.386 1st team LCL, 2nd team central district), senior 1b/of Theo Talbott (.391 1st team LCL, 2nd team central district), and senior catcher Jacob Smith (.309 2nd team LCL, 2nd team central district). Other returners are do-everything player junior Jakob Culver (.306) and senior first baseman Cooper Silverman (.306). Senior Lewis Turner expects to be a big contributor after missing last season with a knee injury. 

Our pitching staff was among the best in Licking County last year with a 2.78 ERA and our top six arms return led by Wells (43 K's in 25.2 innings), sophomore Lucas Bosse (3-1 with a 1.69 ERA 2nd team LCL, Honorable Mention Central District), sophomore Jackson McMillan (4-0 with 2.38 ERA Honorable Mention LCL), and junior Chase Holtzapple (2.04 ERA). Sophomore Sebastian Lipe and freshmen Levi Legg and Max Hall will be fighting for some mound time as well."
