2025 Spring Team Preview: Indian Hill Braves

Team Name: Indian Hill Braves
Head Coach: Cary Daniel
Division: IV
2024 Record: 22-8
2024 Tourney Finish: Regional Semifinals loss to Badin
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 4/5

Coach Outlook: "We lost 5 every day starters from last years team. Those guys have been 4 year starters that brought a ton of leadership and experience to this team. They accounted for 88 of 186 stolen bases, 88 of 227 RBI's, 108 of 268 runs scored offensively. Defensively we lose 6 guys that gave us valuable innings on the mound accounting for 122 of 183 innings and 117/178 K's. Needless to say, we lost a lot.
We have some very good young guys and some older guys with limited or no varsity experience that we expect to plug in right away. We have a lot of guys who pitch and this will make the difference in our season. We will have to rely on solid defense and our ability to create chaos on the base paths to solidify wins this season. We will struggle early at the plate but we do have a few guys that will make a difference for us offensively right now. We will be led by our Sophomore class but the our Junior class is loaded with a lot of good athletes that will give us a good chance to be successful all year. We will simply be a team that has to come out and be the smartest team on the field as well as the most aggressive team on the field."

Top Returning Players:

Dylan Hartman, C/UTL, 2027, 5'8/170 lbs., R/R. Starting catcher and infielder last season as a freshman. 2024 stats - .404 AVG, 31 R, 33 RBIs, 6 2B, 2 3B, 21 SB, 509 SLG.
Devlan Daniel, OF/RHP, 2027, 6'1/215 lbs. S/R. Starting OF last season as a Freshman. Did not pitch due to a preseason injury. He will give us good innings this Spring. 2024 stats - .400 AVG, 30 R, 28 RBIs, 3 2B, 3 3B, 2 HR, 21 BB, 15 SB, .631 SLG.
Ashton Graham, OF/RHP, 2026, 5'10/180 lbs. R/R. 2 year starter in the field and has played all over the field. He will more than likely stay in the OF and pitch. 2024 stats - .338 AVG, 16 R, 22 RBIs, 2 2B, 10 BB, 13 SB.
Brady Drost, MIF/RHP, 2027, 5'9/175 lbs. R/R. Starting 2B last year as a Freshman. This season he will continue in the MIF and add some innings on the mound. 2024 stats - .333 AVG, 21 R, 13 BB, 18 SB.
Jim Liebel, RHP/1B, 2026, 6'4/230 lbs. R/R. 2 year varsity player who played significant time both in the field and on the mound. Jim didn't throw a lot of innings due to upper class pitchers, but we look for him to be our No. 1 this year on the bump, and drive in runs at the plate. 2024 stats - .263 AVG, 12 R, 12 RBIs, 1HR, 14 IP, 13 Ks, 2.36 ERA.
