Brandon Bischof, OF, St. Vincent St. Mary, Class of 2017

PBR: Why did you choose SC Upstate?

Bischof: I chose Upstate because it is a great opportunity for me to play against some great competition in a tough conference. The coaches are great guys and I felt like I would fit well there.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Bischof: Montevallo and Walsh

PBR: How much did playing down south play a part in your decision?

Bischof: It wasn't a huge factor, but it is definitely a bonus to be able to go down south and play in some nice weather earlier in the year. It's a good change from the weather we get in NE Ohio.

PBR: You are a two way prospect, how do the coaches plan on utilizing your athleticism once you reach campus?

Bischof: They plan on using me as an OF who can come in and pitch when they need me. It could all change when I get there though. It all depends on how well I perform in different positions.

PBR: Who do you play for in the summer and what was the most memorable experience from this summer?

Bischof: I play for Ohio Elite coached by Rob McNerney. My most memorable experience was playing down in the PG tournament in Georgia. Either that or playing in the TOC in Cincy. We made some memories that I'll never forget.

PBR:  What person has the greatest impact on your baseball career and why?

Bischof: My dad. He has always pushed me to be the best I can be at all times and has supported me throughout my entire career.

PBR: What were your stats this spring season?

Bischof: Offensively: .329 BA, .435 OBP, 6 2B, 1 HR, 12 RBI, 16 R, 9 SB                         Pitching: 3-3, 1 SV, 30 IP, 10 ER, 40 K, 2.3 ERA

PBR: Who is the toughest pitcher that you have faced?

Bischof: Probably this kid we played in HS ball down in Myrtle Beach. He played for High Point Academy in NC and was a UNC Wilmington commit.
