Nathan Karaffa, INF, Toronto HS, Class of 2019

PBR: Why did you choose Ohio State?

Karaffa: I chose Ohio State because it just felt like the right fit. The coaching staff really made me feel comfortable in the great culture that they have, and the facilities and resources are great. I have also been a life long buckeye fan.

PBR: What other schools were you considering?

Karaffa: Pitt, East Carolina, Wright State, Youngstown State, and Kent Stat

PBR: Where did Coach Beals first see you?  How did your relationship develop with them?

Karaffa: I have talked to the Ohio State coaching staff for a while but this spring Coach Beals came to watch me. We talked a couple more times on the phone, and set up a visit then made my commitment.

PBR: Ohio State is close to home.  How much of a role did distance play in your decision?
Karaffa: Distance wasn't really a role in my decision but it is a very great feeling knowing my family and friends will be able attend my games at OSU.

PBR: You are considered a two-way prospect by many colleges, what are you and the coaching staff’s expectations once you step on the OSU campus?

Karaffa: The coaching staff and my expectations are for me to step on campus as a position player.

PBR:  Who do you play for in the summer and what is your most memorable experience?

Karaffa: This summer I will be playing for Bo Jackson Elite 16u Black.

PBR: What were your expectations about the recruiting process?

Karaffa: I wasn't really sure to expect because it started at a young age but I just tried to enjoy every moment of it.

PBR: What are your stats this spring?

Karaffa: BA: .429, 16 S, 6 D, 1 T, 1 HR, 24 RBI, 15 SB

PBR: Who is the best pitcher that you have ever faced?

Karaffa: I have faced many great pitchers so I couldn't just name one.
