With 2021 now in the past, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best 2022 high school coverage that can be found anywhere. Starting in January, we began releasing team previews for squads across the state. Ahead, we will have Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings coming your way.

2022 Spring Team Preview: Lima Senior Spartans

Team Name: Lima Senior Spartans
Head Coach: Casey Reed
Division: I
2021 Record: 4-25
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 7/7

2022 Team Strengths:

  • Depth
  • Multi-position guys
  • Speed
  • Contact hitters

Coach Outlook: "We return 7 of our 9 starters from last years team along with most of our roster after losing only 3 seniors last year. Hoping for some guys to really come into their own this year as we were a very young team last year. The good news is these guys have played a lot of ball games against quality competition. This team has the potential to be one our better teams if all things fall into place and our senior leaders can push the younger guys to get better everyday. "

Top Returning Players:

  • Skyler Williams UTL/RHP, 2022, 5-11/170, R/R, 4 year starter, 2 time all TRAC Honorable Mention, Career .310 hitter, 2021 OBP .543.
  • Reece Waithe C/UTL/RHP, 2022, 6-0/180, R/R, 4 year starter, 2 time all TRAC Honorable Mention.
  • Marshall Jordan INF/RHP, 2023, 6-1/185,R/R, 2 year starter. Shoulder injury derailed his sophomore year right when he was starting to heat up. Has had a great offseason.
  • Brandon Griffith LHP/OF, 2024, 5-9/165, L/L, Worked his way into the number 2 spot in our rotation over the course of the year. Excellent command for a freshman now sophomore velocity has jumped over the offseason.
