With 2020 now in the past, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best 2021 high school coverage that can be found anywhere. Starting in January, we began releasing team previews for squads across the state. Ahead, we will have Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings coming your way.

2021 Spring Team Preview: Massillon Tuslaw Mustangs

Team Name: Massillon Tuslaw Mustangs
Head Coach: David Burkett
Division: III

2021 Team Strengths:

  • Infield Play
  • Outfield Play
  • Speed

Coach Outlook: "Looking forward to an again tough PAC-7 league schedule and hope to make a nice improvement throughout the season for tournament time."

Top Returning Players:

  • Kaio Grubb: Sr. Catcher/Pitcher/IF (R/R) - was selected 2019 Div. 3 1st Team All-Ohio as a catcher. Batted .495 (50/101) 21 RBI's, 14 doubles, 2 triples and a .575 on-base percentage. He will be asked to pitch for us in the top of our rotation. He would like to continue to play at the next level.
  • Kaden Lau: Sr. IF/P (R/R) - Batted .418 (41/98) his sophomore year and will solidify our infield defense. Leadoff hitter with tremendous abilities. Will be in the top of our pitching rotation also.
  • Connor Polen: Sr. OF/P (L/L) - Batted .267 as a sophomore with sneaky power and has worked tremendously hard since his sophomore year.
  • Tristan Longworth: Sr. IF/2B/OF - Batted .327 (16/49) as a sophomore and played in 27 of our 28 games. Constant and dependable player.
  • Jacob Polen: Sr. IF/OF (R/R) Will definitely be in our starting lineup in 2021. Hard worker and good baseball mind.
  • Liam McCollister: So. catcher (R/R) Was looking forward for Liam to start at the varsity level as our catcher. Good tools and swings a strong and assertive bat.
