With the 2018 spring season right around the corner, PBR Ohio is eagerly anticipating bringing the Buckeye state the best high school coverage throughout the entire state. Starting mid-January, we began releasing team previews for teams across the state, leading into the Preseason All-State Teams as well as the Preseason State Rankings.

2018 Spring Team Preview: New Riegel Blue Jackets
Team Name: New Riegel Blue Jackets
Head Coach: Gregg Hughes
Division: IV
2017 Record: 21-6
Conference Record: SBC, River Division, 2nd
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 4/2
Team Strengths:
- Pitching
Coach Outlook: “After losing five of the nine starters to graduation, we will be looking for some underclassmen to fill in the holes. We have a great group that seems to be anxious to make the team as competitive as in past years.”
PBR Outlook: The loss of some talented players will be felt, but coach Gregg Hughes and the Blue Jackets young prospects are ready to make the mark in 2018. Don't be surprised if New Riegel is playing the best ball late in the season and makes a run in the tournament.
