MADISON - In a huge game in the Buckeye division of the SWBL, the PBR Ohio 20th ranked Division II Carlisle Indians (8-4, 4-1) outlasted the Madison Mohawks (6-0,4-0) 2-0. Great pitching was the story of the night on both sides, as Sinclair recruit Josh Tarter and Madison Junior LHP Tyler Henry locked up in pitchers duel.

As the scoreless game headed to the bottom of third, Carlisle finally got something going offensively. Senior outfielder Andrew Goodpaster drew a one out walk and senior shortstop Skyler Kelly singled to right-center to set the table in third. Cleanup hitter and Sinclair recruit Alec Turner then stepped up big with a two out RBI single to plate Goodpaster and give the Indians a 1-0 lead after three.

The game remained locked up at 1-0 until the bottom of the sixth until senior catcher Levi Boyer lead the inning off with a walk and set the table for Coach Hawkins to play small ball. Sophomore outfielder/RHP Jake Clausing laid down a beautiful bunt and aggressive base running by Boyer gave Carlisle a runner on third with just one out. After Henry made a quality pitch to get the second out of the inning, freshman second baseman Adam Goodpaster ripped a 1-2 pitch into center field for a run scoring single and giving the Indians a 2-0 lead.

Tarter went back out to the mound for the seventh and after the leadoff man reached on a single, he retired the next three Mohawks in order for the complete game shutout and give Carlisle the 2-0 victory. Final line for Tarter went seven innings pitched, 5 hits, 10 strike outs and no runs allowed.

Offensively the Indians were led by Skyler Kelly who was 3-3 in the game, Alec Turner, and Adam Goodpaster who both produced RBI singles.

Madison got an outstanding pitching performance by Junior LHP Tyler Henry who also threw a complete game allowing just five hits and two runs scored. Offensively the Mohawks were led by Saige Micomonaco who was the only player to reach base twice against the dominate Tarter.
