2021 Spring Team Preview: Northwest Indians

Team Name: Northwest Indians
Head Coach: Donnie Macko
Division: II
2019 Record: 13-13
Returning Starters/Pitchers: 5/3

2021 Team Strengths:

  • Offense
  • Infield
  • Speed
  • Defense

Coach Outlook: "Returning only 3 players with varsity experience, this year provides an opportunity for many underclassmen to prove themselves. While the team lacks experience there is lot of raw talent. The team is hungry to compete. With leadership of 4 seniors, I look for this team to learn and grow through a challenging non conference schedule and to be playing our best baseball come tournament time."

Top Returning Players:

  • Jordan Mick, C/INF 2021 5'11 175 lbs, 3 year starter, team captain, Akron Recruit, 2019 1st team all-pac-7, Honorable Mention All-State. Jordan looks to build on phenomenal 2019 season at the plate. He really grew in his leadership last year, as evident by being voted captain by his teammates.
  • Nick Smith,SS/RHP 2021 6'1 170 lbs, 3 year starter. Nick will continue to fill the role of SS that he has for the past 3 seasons. Look for him to be one of our top sticks this season.
  • Noah Lovett, 2B/SS 2021 5'11 165 lbs An above average defender, Noah worked hard to earn the starting 2nd base position as a junior. Look forward to seeing him fill that role this year.
  • Davin Harness 3B/1B/RHP 20216'2 210 lbs Davin will contribute at multiple positions this season. He will be one of our top hitters in a tough lineup. Davin has one of our highest baseball IQs and I look for that to be a factor this year.
  • Tyler Ogozalek 1B/LHP 2022 6'0 165 lbs Tyler was the lone sophomore to make varsity during the 2020 season. He should be at the top of our pitching staff and a cornerstone in our lineup.
