Ohio Insider: A Look at Recruiting Classes for JUCO Programs in the State

Sinclair CC bring in 14 prospects, 12 from Ohio

The Arms: The Tartan Pride bring in six pitching prospects, two left-handed pitchers and four right-handed pitchers. The southpaws are Jake Dennis (Licking County) and Mitchell Morris (Rising Sun, IN). The right-handed pitchers include Jack Goonan (Ayersville), Mitchel Stammen (St. Henry), Kyle McKibben (Coldwater) and Kyle Ruehlman (Milford).

The Infielders: Sinclair looks to add depth to their infield core with three prospects. Aaron Harlamert (C/3B, Coldwater) will look to fill multiple roles while Peyton Ley (3B/1B, Granville, verbal commit) and John Cheatwood (Richmond, IN) look to add depth behind the dish and at the corner positions. Middle infield wise, the Tartan Pride brings in three talented prospects in Cody Dennis (Licking County), Blaze Glenn (Toronto) and Colin Shepherd (Olentangy Orange).

The Outfielders: Sinclair adds athleticism and speed with two outfielders, Sean Darmafall (Elyria Catholic) and Jeremiah Clark (Westerville Central).

Coach Steve Dintaman Quote: “We’re very excited about this incoming class, as we continue to bring in some of the state’s top players. This group is not only very athletic and talented on the field, they also have the highest GPA of any class we’ve had, with an average well above a 3.0. The success of our former players has evaluated our recruiting to where it’s at today, and we’re now able to get nearly all of the players on the top of our board.”

Cuyahoga CC sign 6 and add 5 verbals from Ohio

The Arms: Cuyahoga CC sign's one pitcher only and adds another through a verbal commitment. Noah Evans (RHP, Massillon Jackson) has signed while Adam Long (RHP, Aurora) has verbally committed to Tri-C.

The Two-Way Prospects: Tri-C will look to have a lot of versatility on the roster with five two-way guys signing and another verbally committing to Cuyahoga CC. Cody Gabriel (LHP/1B, Upper Sandusky), Dustin Redish (RHP/OF, Harrison Central), JT Smith (RHP/INF, Hebron Lakewood), Cameron Johnson (OF/LHP, Watkins Memorial) and Garret Robberts (1B/RHP, Utica) have signed while Cal Smith (INF/RHP, North Olmsted) has committed verbally.

The Infielders: Tri-C got a signature from Sami Mehmed (INF, Strongsville) while also getting a verbal commitment from Kevin Houdek (INF, Padua Fransican) and Tyler Maylish (C, Jefferson Area).

The Outfielders: Tri-C adds Justin Springer through a verbal commitment.

Others coming on board: Tri-C also have three commitments from Pennsylvania as well as one from Ontario.
